Definitive Cross Turismo Delay/Stop-Order/Held in Port Thread

Porsche Marin is up north in cali. I’d guess the Benicia Port. I can’t understand all the weird communication and lack of transparency. My SA called Friday and said the cars were being held bc they needed a signature from the EPA. No parts or recalls he said. I feel like every single person on this thread has been told a different reason. Ugh hopefully, they do start getting released soon. I don’t believe its EPA holding the cars up bc another dealer in my area just received a CT and called me to see if I wanted to pick it up. It had just arrived to port and was released within days. It seems like it’s just a certain set of cars that are being held and that seems like a parts or software issue.

I wish Porsche would show more empathy towards them and make their job easier. I spoke to the person coordinating the deliveries. He said he finally got a real update and that it was not EPA or software, he said they told him which part they were waiting for, but he did not remember and did not want to guess/make something up. This is believable to me bc if it was SW-related it would have impacted more cars, if it was EPA we would not see so many CTs being released.

Lol I actually wouldn’t be as mad for the hold up if this was the fix. But wouldn’t that effect sedans as well?

Fwiw, my SA told me in late March that none of their taycans (not just CTs) were getting delivered that month. — but I know that is counter to what others here have heard and experienced.

What port is yours at? If you don’t mind sharing dealer distance as well. Just to get an idea.

The folks at PECLA also seem relatively certain that the cars will be ready to move out (to them) from Houston that week of 5/1. That being said, I'll believe it when it happens. It feels like the car is completely a figment of my imagination at this point and I really don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Porsche should consider the overall effect of Track Your Dream. If you are going to get us excited via visibility to the build process, one should consider making sure the sausage factory is spotless. Lest you turn your basic satisfier into a dissatisfier instead of a delighter.

They’re still being told a software update. Last time I checked software didn’t need to be boated over. Perhaps there’s some sort of control/computer unit they need for a software update? Maybe this piece of equipment was on the boat that went down? Anyways I’m stuck in Houston, dealer is in St. Louis, I live in Denver. My rep and manager told them they need a hard date or they’ll contact Porsche North America and find a similarly spec’ed car.

My TYD just updated from 4/29 to 5/20…so that was like a punch to the gut. Wonder what kind of lies I’ll be told for this delay. First it was a Bose chip missing, then software update, then a missing chip that wasn’t the Bose chip but not sure what chip, then it was we have no idea what the hold up is, and the latest being the epa needs to sign off. I kinda feel sick over this whole experience at this point.

Mine just moved to 5/20 as well.

I have to wonder if it’s time to speak to Porsche about Getting my deposit back. It will have been in the Houston port for 3 months.

Same, went from 5/6 to 5/20. It has been sitting at Benicia since 3/7

I suspect that the dealership would love nothing better but for us to ask for our money back. They are now asking for 20K above MSRP. most of us did not pay as much. I don't think they are doing this on purpose, but we have no leverage - the dealership would benefit if we gave up on our cars.

I officially switched over from a cross Turismo to a similarly priced 4S due to the it being stuck at port since Feb. for some reason I don’t trust the car after it has sat for so long. New car due in first week of June. Not much of a wait difference at this point in time! And the dealer was very cool about just moving my deposit over to the 4S.
