Definitive Cross Turismo Delay/Stop-Order/Held in Port Thread

My dealer told me a week ago that a "bracket" needed to be replaced but he had no idea which bracket or what it was for so it's certainly possible it's for the backup camera since the Taycan sedans are not affected.

The EPA needing to sign off doesn't make any sense:

At the time of content, only 1 source. Now, we have 2 sources. I guess I can believe it now.
But, if it's a bracket issue, Germany Porsche doesn't have to send over ship right? They can send over the air. So, why the delay? No parts? Are they that hard to make them? It's just a bracket!

If everyone on this thread also does the same (in their own words) maybe we can get a response.

I did this earlier in the week and the response I got was to contact the Service Department !! I hope you have better luck. I worded my message asking what the actual cause of the delay was, what part or software was missing and was Porsche putting any kind of priority to the delay. The response below was received on 04/21/22 at 8:42 AM

I don’t believe it’s the epa, that’s just what I’m being told. The bracket doesn’t make sense either. You could machine up those brackets so fast. They could send the bracket dimensions or cnc file to a place in the us and have them made so quickly. A bracket isn’t some thing to hold up cars for this long.
I think it has something to do with complaints people have made about the cars shifting into N or P at stop lights. That’s a major issue that could call for a stop sale. Again just my guesses as we have all been told various reasons.

Well, consider that it appears to effect only Cross Tourismos. The phantom neutral like any Triumph motorcycle seems to be any Taycan.

I guess I'm adding fuel to the rumor fire, but here goes....my SA just emailed me with his update - they are not being told by Porsche what the missing part is and said part has not been received by VW -Amports Processing Center in Benicia yet. I mentioned I knew of at least 4 CT being held at Benicia since 03/07 and he said there is a lot more than that and they won't be released this month. I know, grain of salt type info....

No I saw someone who’s taycan sedan was stopped saled at the dealer. I think it’s the April thread and my dealer mentioned taycan sedans and CTs. But definitely agree it’s more CTS.

I’ll go with a friend for his Cross Turismo delivery early this week. It was built the last week of Feb and is unaffected by the stop sale. He ordered his almost two months after mine -shrug-
I’m really excited to see it.

Well, that camera bracket is what they are waiting for according to a SA.
