Taycan Production to Stop for a 'Substantial' Period of Time

Taycan RWD in Dolomite Silver, Blackberry full leather. I'll make a proper post in the correct thread when I get the chance. I don't want to clog up this thread.

Before placing my order, I was told the lead time could be up to a year. I placed the order about three weeks ago, and a week later my production was confirmed for September this year. No idea if this is realistic, but that's what I've been told. The sales guy said he had one build slot put aside and managed to grab it for me. I wouldn't mind if it's a bit later than September, because I'm taking delivery of an M3 Competition in just over a week, and the Taycan will replace the M3, so I want to enjoy the M3 for a bit longer if I'm honest.


This is in the Netherlands.

Sounds like a very nice colour combo, don't think I've seen it.
September would be very impressive and, despite all the challenges, there still seem to be some surprise deliveries making their way through the chaos.

I just received word from my SA that the system updated on their end and shows a delivery of my CT in the beginning of August. This would only be a one week delay compared to their original estimate. Freeze date was 4/30.

My car (CT4) was finished production on May 5 and is now at Emden port (heading to Rhode Island). TYD says it should be on the vessel today and hope it could go through.
Hope there is no delay for the other May productions.

The latest from my dealer, though in my case it's actually being purchased by the lease company for me to lease via my company scheme:

The situation with Taycan is still very unclear. The factories have recommenced some production but we are only seeing very small numbers of build slots allocated. Typically 1 - 2 a month which is significantly lower than our normal allocation.

Your order remains unslotted with the factory, although the order has been accepted. I am unable to give an accurate build date until the factory actually slot the car. We are also unable to contact the factory to prioritise any builds due to this being a global situation.

I am sorry this isn't ideal and sounds very vague but I will continue to keep an eye on your order and let you know as soon as the factory update our Porsche centre.

I’m curious what you find ignorant and offensive about that comment. A quick internet search shows the annual income in Germany is 47000 and Czech is 22000. The Ukraine is 3600. Is a country having lower cost of labor demeaning? Or is stating that fact demeaning? Mexico and the Ukraine are thousands of km apart.

I'm stuck with either rolling current lease or handing back and trying a short term lease but the uncertainty doesn't help.

Just got confirmation today that my Taycan 4S ordered in February 2022 will be delivered in January 2023, that is longer than I expected but i will be glad to have a 231 D plate for the beginning of next year and, the price went up by 1500 Euro.....
