Hello,
As I assumed the topic would already have been discussed, I searched the forum looking for an answer to my question but haven't found it.
So if anyone could answer this :
I'm planning a trip through France and since Porsche has a rate agreement with the Ionity network, I would like the car to prioritise Ionity chargers because it will be much cheaper than using chargers from other networks.
I searched everywhere on the net (yes, on the net because my ordered ST keeps on being delayed, so can't search in the PCM)) but can't figure out how.
Is this even possible ?
I suppose it's possible through ABRP combined with Tronity (in Europe), but I would rather work with the Porsche charging planner.

Thanks.

A filter option like that would be great for the Porsche Charging planner, but it is not available. It would also be great to be able to set the minimum of chargers at each charging location that is included in the plan. You can easily set such filters in ABRP.

The Charging Planner works ok, but with frequent map updates during a longer trip, you can suddenly be directed yo a single 50 kW station instead of the Ionity station? May come in future releases..

I am planning a trip to Northern Italy this summer. Although Ionity seems the most economic solution I think it won't be the most comfortable one.

When traveling from Belgium / The Netherlands to France you need the Welling en Metz Ionity chargers that only have 4 and 6 chargers. If you look on a weekend in ABPR, they are almost always occupied. This will be worse during the holidays.

Even before an EV we are avoiding weekends. Leaving on a thuisday and returning on a friday.

The Arlon Tesla supercharger is open for all brands and has the correct orientation to charge a Taycan. This can be a very practical stop.

I am planning my trip in ABRP, enter the destination in PCM to have pre-conditioning

this is where proper planning comes into play.
I was on a trip from NJ to FLA and I just entered the route into the nvi system and the darned thing took me past an EA unit to a slower 50 KW charger that was about 15 miles beyond that EA charger. I will never make that error again.

It is a PIA but the way to plan is to use the EA app, or ABRP or plugshare to locate the higher speed L3 chargers on your route and then manually enter the location of the next unit on the route into the nav system.
it would be great if the planner had a way to filter out the slower 50kw chargers.

@McgR @kort thanks for the tip. Didn’t think of planning through abrp and then manually input them in the navi of the car.
Btw, just got the message that my car is finally ready and on his way tho the dealer?

Don’t forget to buy the pro version of ABPR. You can see how many chargers are available. And you can change more parameters. I have a monthly payment.

Charge finder is really practical to find chargers on destination and plug share is practical because it has charging reviews and pictures of the chargers. Can be useful when you are looking for a charger on a citytrip.

Did some research. For my own trip. I have the Shell recharge an Plugsurfing RFID cards as back up. And installed some apps and coupled them with my credit card (if you don’t do it at home, done forget your “calculator” thing for your credit card, you might need this to activate your CC in the app. Germany : Maingau, Italy Enel X Juice Pass, Austria Charge pass. Switzerland Swiss charge. May have planned a bit to much.

Isn't this the option to prioritise the Porsche Charging Service?

Alternative is to add specific Ionity stopovers as favourites or charging locations perhaps?

That is a good way of doing the planning and a benefit is that you can print out your route and bring along. That way you have a good reference for the charging station. And if you are travelling during the summer the preconditioning of the battery will be helped by just driving for an hour or less. Just remember to charge your car before a hotel stop, if they do not have a level 2 charger. Otherwise it may take a few minutes extra in the morning to charge.

Another way that now seems to work is to plan your route and then check in the MyPorsche app. In that app you can select Ionity only charging stations! And then check the destinations that will suit you. Save the charger as a favourite and send these destinations to the car! That avoids having to enter a number of destinations manually and works great. (Hopefully with a stable app and stable comms with the car)

You can plan your route in the same app and that will take into account elevation and the cars consumption at legal speed limits. Unfortunately the filter for only Ionity stations is overwritten then in my experience. But you will get the overall planned stops and can search for Ionity nearby.

As said earlier all it takes is a bit of planning and then things are easy once you are on the road.

Unfortunately not! That will still give you the dreaded 50 kW chargers, not only Ionity. It just means you prioritise chargers that are linked to the Porsche Charging Service, ie your card or app works there. It would not find any FastNed chargers for instance

I just ordered a Chargemap-pass as a backup, which should cover most of the European chargers. Looks fine too.
II'm also following your advice and downloaded Chargefinder and will get the premium ABRP once my car has arrived in a few weeks.

Thanks to you all guys, became a lot wiser now.

Ah ok, so simply use My Porsche App, filter out any less than 270kW and then enter destination to ploy route and finally send to car.

Only Ionity in UK listed but this could be left out and rely on selecting >= 270kW.

My iPhone app doesn’t have this filter. Is this android? Recent update. Looks quite useful.

I'm currently in the south of France having decided at short notice (1 day) to do a road trip.

I was amazed that despite having Prioritise Porsche Charging Service ticked, it doesn't at all priortise and as Scandinavian has said, Ionity can be ignored in favour of 50kw chargers (in my case 10km apart). The solution has been to use ABRP which has so far chosen Ionity first.

On the plus side the trip has been fantastic and I would encourage everyone to do it. Motorway cruising is effortless and hairpin bends on mountain roads so much fun.

The number of people looking at the car has been countless!

Two things I've discovered, the headlights do automatically switch to continental driving and regeneration down a mountain road (col de la colombiere) worked well.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Italy. I've already planned the route using ABRP and then manually added to the PCM. I'm avoiding the Mont Blanc tunnel outward to ensure a more scenic route

Yes, I see it on My Porsche, I have Android.
Thank you @W1NGE, that's what I was looking for!

Android.

Original app had it too but only recently added to the current one.

Standby is the Porsche Charging App which from memory may offer the filter.

Odd the Apple App doesn't have it given Porsche's preference for the brand.
