Still no Bose

Does anyone know if / when Bose or Burmester will become available again? It seems the standard sound system isn't great, making no upgrade options a real disappointment.

I spoke to South London last week, they said it won't be available any time soon.
I lock on Friday, I'm going ahead without Bose, I'll have to look aftermarket if I feel the base system is really poor.

The Bose system in the Taycan really isn't anything to lose sleep over. The HK system in my wife's mini runs laps around it for ⅓ of the price. Haven't tried the Burmeister but probably worth exploring if you really care about sound

I found the standard system fine for a car system IME. It isn't loud enough to win a competiotion but diction is clear and intelligible on voice radio - voice is a good judge of sound accuracy since we all know what a voice sounds like whereas most people aren't that familiar with the real sound of live instruments.

On the sort of (mainly classical and folk) music I enjoy the even frequency response and fairly accurate instrumental timbre was better than I expected, actually. It was nice and punchy without being boomy on rock music.

It doesn't have the chesty voice and bass boom common to many car systems so I was pleasantly surprised and not, in the end, disappointed by dropping Bose.

This is worrying - I have it on the configurator and dealer also confirmed it was available. About to lock in next week! I'm going to email again now. This is on a CT4S.

The UK configurator for ST GTS has a circle with a cross in it for both Bose and Burmester. You can still select either but apparently, cars are being delivered without them as supply issues with no end in sight. I am leaving Bose selected but not expecting it to be there when i get mine sometime early summer. Radio 4 and Audio books only!!

I wonder why so many people think its Burmeister not Burmester?

It's actually more difficult to say / spell, so it's not convenience.

Perhaps the cost makes people think it needs a more elaborate name?

Maybe because “meister” sounds more like “master” as in the master of sound? Or a Maestro? ? ?

I'm due to lock tomorrow, my dealer has said it's fine, included on the order and should be absolutely no issue by the time I take delivery.

Situation changed very recently and if listed on the configurator then it will have become available again. Prior to this GTS models and above were able to spec Bose (for example).

I think you'll be fine.

When the dealer submits the actual order a final check is made and advice given on any option which won't be available for your specific build. Once locked and no notifications on issues with options then you're 99% certain of being home and dry.

Excellent, thanks. Fingers crossed - I've got nothing massively against stock audio ad previous BOSE systems in Audis haven't been great but would rather have than not in this car
