Now Tesla have decided overnight not to make any more S or X in RHD, there will doubtless be be an influx or Teslarati to the Taycan. ..

God forbid, even like this guy (although I told him to buy another Tesla). Anything to save us from the purgatory of grumpy former Tesla owners...???

I had a deposit down on a Plaid in case the Taycan didn't work for me, they have offered me £2000 off a 3/Y or a LHD S. I think I'll have my £100 back please ?

lol- you will probably loose more than £2k on top of normal depreciation for a used Lhd S when it comes to sell.

Still don’t know what to make of Tesla’s decision to stop selling the S and X in UK - either they have seen that units sold in UK do not compensate for manufacture cost of RHD or UK regulations dont/won’t be feasible for any new future strategies…..but still, quite a puzzling conundrum.

I think the way they chop and change things on a whim is a bad long term business decision.

It doesn't take much for people to lose all faith in a company - which is then very hard to reverse.

Just look at the banks as a recent example of evaporating trust in an organisation.

Agree……..but, it seems that it now takes a lot to put customers off, look at us Taycan crowd, delays, faults, lack of communication etc but order books are still ongoing. I bet there will still be orders for the Plaid even if it’s in LHD guise - previous example where sales continued in the UK: Lancia Intergrale

After a quick recon of the Tesla forums, I don’t think that many will go for the Taycan citing range as the main issue followed by seats and space. Mercs are probably the most equivalent option, EQE, EQS and a lot of SUV style options.
That’s certainly a relief as someone who’s been researching Taycans for a few months and about to bite the bullet and get an order started…

I really don't want try try and convince any reluctant Tesla dudes over here. I'm sure an EQxxxx Merc or a BMW iX horror show will be fine and dandy ?

Seriously doubt it. Those guys would just buy a Model 3/Model Y instead, which will continue to be RHD produced. THe model S/X hardly sells at all, and im sure the RHD numbers are even more pitiful.

Yes, last year it was about 1.3 million 3 and Y against about 70,000 S and X and so far this year a reasonable increase in 3 and Y sales with S and X fairly stagnant.
