I have been looking for a while and just getting 2022 Taycan CT 4S - I noticed lot of taycans for sale with around 10k or less miles. Surprised, people switch from ICE cars and then don't like the charging aspect and trade it in? Seem people don't keep them for long...

Also, what is first recommended thing to do / check with new ownership of used? One thing I want to find out is that the info system is latest version - do I need to go to dealership? Or is software pushed over air as in Tesla?

I recommend you do some thread surfing to see how others are approaching the purchase of a used Taycan.

I like this thread by @Jonathan S. on his purchase of a 4CT after scoping it out at several locations across the US. Check out others like this one from @Swifts on his tradeoff analysis (new vs. used).

Porsche doesn't do OTA updates like Tesla, and their updates are far and few between. Well, Porsche is attempting to do OTA updates, but there haven't been any major ones.

The people who buy a Porsche Taycan aren't traditional EV buyers, they're like any other Porsche drivers. Rich people who like cars and probably get bored after a year. When i was picking up my Taycan, there was a guy trading in a 992 he had for 6 months to get a different 992.

Porsche people are a different breed for sure. When I test drove a used Taycan to see if I wanted to order a new one, the salesperson just assumed I would buy it as a tide-me-over car while waiting for the allocation.

Then, at a different dealership, I was driving a used one of a different trim level. That car had 800 miles on it. So I joked to the sales guy that I guess whoever bought it didn't like it much, and he said "no, the guy just trades in his car every three months."

Personally, I'm just someone who wanted an EV but wouldn't be caught dead in a Tesla. Point is, if you don't like the selection of used cars today, wait a month or so and there will be more options to choose from.

That’s crazy!
That is a crazy good deal. I paid full price for my new one, with everything I wanted, but these kinds of reports sting for sure. However, I am seeing the same low miles Taycans and 992s for sale trend so can only speculate that people get bored with them, but there are others like this video, with someone buying it without researching the charging situation and turning it in. You can fast forward to the end where she says, I live in an apartment with no charging, and local EA stations do not work. However, I find it curious as it appears she works at a Porsche dealership, where they should have chargers, my dealership has 2 now, and they allow employees to use them with EVs.

Just read in one of the Porsche Club GB chat groups that in the UK there are 500 new Taycans on Porsche forecourts. Not even new ones selling. I have not checked the data myself. With interest rates and property prices falling it’s no surprise people are not buying or selling their luxury cars.

Here's what happened: Some overzealous flunky at a Porsche dealership drove the new Taycan into a chain link fence, and the dealership fixed the scratches on the passenger side front fender and then sold it as a used vehicle with an accident history.

Yep this is my 2nd and cannot wait to get rid of it biggest pile of trash I have ever owned problem after problem complete dash failure now. The trade are fully aware hence the massive price drop in value and most folks I know will never buy again.
