Sport Turismo variant missing as well? Wonder if that will stay GTS only in the US and that's why it's not included. Isn't it typical for the GTS variant to arrive later in the cycle?

Indeed GTS usually trails, as it gets its own distinctive look. I was only speculating (if you're referring to my posts) that with the increase in power of the base models there may be less room.


  • Taycan[2]: 300/320 kW
  • Taycan 4S5: 400/440 kW
  • Taycan Turbo: 650 kW
  • Taycan Turbo S: 700 kW
There's exactly ~200kW between 4S and Turbo, so in principle that would be split by the GTS.

Looks very generic, which is too bad as the 1st gen has such futuristic styling.
It screams Mazda to me! But Porsche's tend to look better in real world so maybe the pictures aren't doing the curves justice.

Oooof, since the Taycan was already "Zaftig", with a capital "Zaf"! ;-)

Not a fan of systems that require extra actions to access full power (push-to-pass).

The charging speed looks pretty spectacular though! (with a working DCFC and the right conditions...thisisarecording)

Ye, of little faith; Porsche have been lurking around here, and I'm sure they've taken loads of notes for the refresh.
Interesting you picked out soft close function from that excerpt. I took from that, race track mode, allowing active pre-cooling of the battery before “a more spirited drive” ?

Now if the new battery charges as quickly as promised, then we won’t also need a manual battery pre-heat function either.

Larger battery weights in at 15kg lighter than the current Taycan larger pack!

It's there in the press photos, but not called out. On the C&D page it noted some uncertainty specifically around the ST. Additionally, in the first post out breaks out the sedan and CT pricing, but omits the ST, hence my question around it remaining GTS only in the US and releasing later.

I’m not sure. We need specs. But from the announcement (bolding mine):

The entry level Taycan models are now also equipped with adaptive air suspension.. In addition to the upgraded equipment, the improved product specification includes a lighter battery with increased capacity.

That front end - yeesh. Looks like it was simplified for lower cost more than anything. Looks very generic, which is too bad as the 1st gen has such futuristic styling. The internal engineering advances are pretty incredible and shows how much they’ve learned in 4 years.
Agreed. It’s not pretty from the front.
