Nice day out in Burlingame, CA today. Son and I had a quick chat with Lucid CEO/CTO Peter Rawlinson at Topper Jewelers. An impressive mind and a great guy!

Oh, and I bought this too because smitten and Titanium.

Very nice.

Have had a Class 4 El Primero for around 20yrs. Beautiful, underrated watches. (Shame Zenith went through a phase of bling/trying to hard.... But they seem to be back on terra firma now).

I’m one of those weird people who like to be able to easily read the time from their watch. This particular watch would not be a good one for me even though the design is cool looking.

Here’s a watch that treats the owner like the hiccup in time he really is. There’s a gear in this watch that rotates once every 400 years! So you might see maybe 45° of rotation during your ownership experience (unless you cheat and spin into the distant future). Anybody else find this depressing?

A tour de force of watchmaking and attractive to boot. Just introduced at Watches & Wonders. Why settle for perpetual when you can have eternal?

It came with a little wax sealed phial in the packaging containing parts needed to updaye it in 2200...

Looks a bit like the star wars one i had when i was a kid in 1977ish! Lit up neon red when you pushed the ever stiffer button to show the time!

Lots of Bobby dazzler watches on this thread. As there are so many experts on here, what is a good suggestion for an 18th birthday present? Nothing too fancy, around £3-500. Anything more will either get broken or lost or stolen if he goes out in central London!

I bought the wife a Tissot Seastar for travel. A beater watch that shouldn't get you mugged for it.
I think it's a great watch for the money.

There's a wide range of models, sizes, colours, quartz or automatic etc.

It ticked every box I wanted for her:
36mm
Quartz
Waterproof
Date
Rotating bezel (60 mins to time things)
Saphire crystal (scratch resistant)
Lightweight

And the icing on the cake for her is the quick release bracelets and straps, so you can switch things about in seconds.
So she has the metal brecelet and 4 coloured silicone straps.

This is one of the 40mm version which may be more suitable for a lad.
