For various reasons I prefer 19" wheels and tires. Even the look of high profile tires is underrated (e.g., Dino 246 GT). The base aero rims have been offered in various finishes. I think there were both matte and polished silver over black. These polished ones with black inlay I think look the best with my volcano grey. B&W center caps, European side markers.

Configurator was recently updated to show a reflection, the 4S has the matt version as an option, not an after the fact efficiency option if you have the larger optional brakes though.

I have a set of the polished ones with winter tires and I agree that they are way better looking than the base wheels even though they are the same design.

I don't know why I never thought of this! I've really hated my rims since I got the car but haven't found suitable replacements. Powdercoating them a new color might make me happy in the short term! Need new tires soon anyways so might as well!

Yes, both PCCB and PSCB.

The base wheels look great when 1/2 of each spoke is painted. It’s been done by a few forum members…..not sure why Porsche didn’t do this from factory.

Me too. Have not used them last year, so still curious how it will look. But looking to the photos it’s not that bad (compared to the matt version).

My personal conspiracy theory is still that Porsche deliberately painted the standard rims in the ugliest colour they could imagine, to persuade people to upgrade to more expensive rims.

The rims themselves evidently aren’t actually ugly in essentially any other colour than the standard one.

Not a conspiracy theory, they have an incentive to not make the base wheel great, although the Macan EV five spoke is pretty good.

I find the title of this thread to be low key hilarious. Like “the cup holder is not detestable” or “marriage is survivable”.

I think the biggest issue with them is that the configurator is not accurate in appearances and there are few opportunities to see them in real life before ordering. I’m sure you could make them look even better with some creative refinishing.
