Close to six weeks and no real progress.
Yesterday, I was escalated to a supervisor at Porsche US (Jeff).

UPDATE:
Porsche Germany has now requested MORE DIAGNOSTICS from the dealer which means another few weeks (my guesstimate) before I even know WHAT they plan to do.. No doubt weeks after that to get parts and install.

I feel for you! I am in the same boat again.

After almost 2 weeks just got word from the dealer. The module #28 maybe needs to be replaced and the aircon compressor, too. Last time module replacement took them (19 Feb to 5 May) two and half months.

Unreal, that they cannot streamline the process of fixing their batteries. No wonder customers are scared to buy Taycans and that they lose value faster than a rock hits to ground.

UPDATE:
As of today, Porsche has authorized the replacement of one of the battery cell packs. No word (as yet) on lead time.

Additionally there was another recall notice (I don't recall what it was for) that will also be taken care of while they have the car.

...this Friday will mark the end of week 7.

Dealer told me yesterday as well that Porsche Germany agreed that module #28 needs to be replaced as well as the AC compressor. Parts will arrive in about one month, so I guess another 6 weeks without the car.

Tell them you want a new battery not just a module replacement because it will provably fail again.
I thought this is what they are doing now. Maybe I’m confused. I know this is what Tesla and lucid do. They replace BATTERY

They won't consider it unfortunately...they have a long and complex diagnosis/resolution process that involves the dealer, Atlanta and Germany....NOT the epitome of German efficiency. :(

WELL----here we are as of today.
Workscope has been approved by Germany
Parts on order (some of them in already)
Likely that I won't see the car until after Labor Day---2.5 months out of service.

I have a 2020 4 S that had a drastic loss of range. They replaced the battery with a 2023 re-manufactured battery. My car did not show error messages. Good luck.

Lucky, you got a complete new pack!

UPDATE: I picked up mine yesterday. Battery module replaced. New AC compressor added. Now steering is making strange noise. Anyway, will complain, when the battery fails again.

They said, total cost of repair would have been close to USD 10k.

Just got it back end of August, now after 2 weeks parked again:

Porsche Taycan Red Circle of DEATH 39e543953140685867d476381925ca

3rd time within a year.

Just a reminder: I paid 230k USD in 2020 for it. Today a kWh costs around 80 USD. Why can't Prosche upgrade the battery, so that I have a car I can actually drive?

Anybody wonders, why nobody buys Taycan anymore? Even the Macan EV is not selling, at least not in Germany. I know the car is now 4 years old, but everything is still great besides the battery!

My (hopefully) final update:
I picked up the car on October 22....and all has been fine since (well, under normal circumstances that would go without saying but in this case it bears mentioning!).

The dealer was great- as mentioned before they have provided me with a Taycan loaner for the duraction of the repair. Upon pick up they literally LOADED the trunk (boot) up with Porsche swag- near as I can figure around $800 worth of 'stuff' (actual value probably $200!) but it was a nice gesture and some of the swag was nice and was useful.

Porsche has offered me a cash settlement 'as a goodwill gesture' for my 'years of support for the brand'. Not a lot but it is something. They also gave me 6 months of Connect service.

Honestly I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep it or bail...but the reality is that I LOVE driving this car. The performance, the comfort, etc is just nothing short of amazing. Two days after pickingit up we took it on an approx.400 mile round trip excursion over 2 days. Some highway driving, some dense urban driving (Manhattan) and some country roads (to a winery in CT) and the car was just simply a total pleasure.

Left with a full charge, plugged in overnight at our hotel and all was good.

? ? ? ? ? ??

@MAPC Glad things are resolved. Thanks for updating the thread.
Without having to read all 7 pages of the thread, what repairs were finally done to your Taycan to fix the problem?
You were without your car from June through October?

They replaced multiple cells in the battery. The extended time was due to first diagnosis resulted in changing out some cells. Then it didn't test as 100% so they re-ran the DX, decided to replace more cells, etc.

The timing challenges- and my biggest issue with Porsche is that their process can best be described as very 'German'. :)

Dealer takes in car
Porsche US tells them what tests to run
Dealer runs tests
Results go to Atlanta
Results go to Germany
Germany wants more tests
Dealer runs more tests....RINSE AND REPEAT
Germany instructs dealer what repairs to do
Parts are ordered and shipped
Dealer installs
Dealer runs test....tests fail
RINSE AND REPEAT ALL OF THE ABOVE
New tests after new parts a SUCCESS
Germany wants dealer to road test/charge/road test/charge/etc for a week before releasing
Car released

Yes, I was without my car for 4 months but they provided me with a perfectly nice (though oddly optioned, IMHO) Taycan base during that time.

Yes, very bureaucratic way of doing things. VW produces the same amout of cars as Toyota, but with twice as many people. ;)

Lucky you got a Taycan, I had an ICE Macan, back to driving last century.

I am curious, how often Porsche will pay for a module swap before they replace the whole battery pack? I'll keep posting here...
