haha. That clock has always been a gimmick since they introduced it on the 997 generation of the cars (Cayman, Cayenne) as part of the Sport Chrono package. Back then, it was literally a stop watch. It was just as difficult to use back then as it is now.

Interestingly, the Taycan, Macan and Cayenne all offers a compass (CT only). I'm going to try to retrofit it on my GTS. I think it's super unique, and reasonably useful as it's an altimeter and displays degrees heading.
The compass has some utility at least and I quite enjoy the altimeter. I think I could live without it. It looks a bit like a wart stuck on top of the dash. I’m sure Posche can program a compass and altimeter into one of the dash screens. Certainly a case of less is more.

The right tube can also be configured to show compass with altimeter reading.

I don’t like the ipad look in a lot of EV’s. Just not my thing. I do like the Taycan look but would appreciate a larger center screen; not huge just a bit larger. I also have the passenger display and really dislike the lack of flexibility in terms of apps. They should have easy access to Netflix or whatever for the passenger imo.

Well, Tesla reminds you every like 3 seconds to keep your eyes on the road.
Even if you just check your speed.
The system got more and more restrictive over the years to a point, it got annoying AF.

As well as that interior, so are Lexus EV’s. Pretty awful. I stupidly bought their first EV - a RZ 450e. Only 160 miles on a highway in summer and charging not great. They designed everything around preserving battery life so only 64kw available out of 72 and terrible consumption - lucky to get 2 miles a KW on a motorway. I stupidly didn’t know enough about EV’s so believed the marketing hype with no reviews as it was one of the first RZ in the country. I lost £ 33k in 19 months.

I don't mind big screens. I found my model S in 2017 with integrated big screen just fine. But it was integrated. I absolutely detest those freestanding ipads Tesla and many others use today. On the taycan the integrated dash was a huge selling point to me.

I've noticed the bigger screens are made to detract from the cheaper interior.
It becomes the focal point of the eyes

It's the industry trend, screens are getting bigger and bigger. Bigger screen means easier to read and more information can be displayed.

How to fit the large screen(s) and into interior design nicely is a different story. Most cars just stick a large rectangular LCD screen(s) on the dash board, I think it's ugly and disturb of views

The next generate Porsche will have bigger screen, too.
Just wait until they start pushing ads on those screens! I can see it happening!

Ford already filed a patent to funnel advertisement to infotainment screen or speakers in 2023. It would gathers info like speed, GPS position and destination, then comes up with a advertisement.

Insane. They wanna hit us every way they can. I think I'm gonna invent a sleep mask that plays ads whilst you wear it.
