Does the world need a 1139hp SUV?
There is a market for very powerful overpriced SUVs, as the Cayenne ICE has proven before.
That being said, the EV market is different, and 1139 is ridiculous.

I feel like those turbos will deprecate like a cannon ball in 2-3 years, much more so than even the taycan.

Can't believe the upper managment of Porsche is pushing for air vents without physical control - from the mouth of a dev during Hill Climb event. Going back to physical air vents was the best thing on the Macan EV.

I thought the pricing would be worse. £100k in the UK for the standard one with all the options I would want including leather, Bose, over wheels etc. 4.8 seconds to 60 and if the range is about 340 in the real world that sounds good to me. It’s not much more than the petrol that’s older and slower.

Since when did “need” become a part of the Porsche equation?

I’m just glad that there are some 1000+ hp EVs that actually look like they have 1000 hp.

These Teslas, Hummers and Rivians with 1000+ hp seem to be answering a question no one asked.

Put high horsepower in a PERFORMANCE vehicle…… not a grocery getter or truck.

You’re just seeing base prices. Just wait until you option them out.

It’s significantly higher than the gas Cayenne. I’m also going to guess that the difference in horsepower for the turbo is just in the tune.

Pricing is pretty much what I expected based on the Macan EV.

Here in the Netherlands this new EV starts at 110K vs 170K for the base ICE. No brainer..

The turbo is not just a tune. Different new in-house rear engine

£83k is the base price. That had £17k of options. The base petroleum cayenne is £77k and is slower. I’m not buying one but I think this could have been way worse.

Here in Denmark the base price is close to the Taycan and cheaper than any of the hybrids were previously. Base ICE is almost double the price due to taxes.

Pretty sure that it will sell a lot here and it seems like a better deal than the Macan.

I have never really liked the Cayenne (or SUV's in general). But I think it's great to see progress on many of the pain points of the Taycan. And it seems to be relatively efficient as well.

Really wish the Taycan would catch up with the tech rolled out in the Cayenne but that's probably a long shot.

It’s a SUV; it is a grocery getter and a truck.

In what world does a SUV look like a sports car? 🤣

Don’t tell me you’re also one of those people saying the Macan EV handles just like the taycan if not better 🤣

It’s a good looking performance SUV.

Taycan is a great looking GT car.

Neither look out of place with high horsepower.

This doesn’t look like it should have more than 300 hp let alone more than 1000:

Neither does this-

and DEFINITELY NOT THIS-

Same goes for the quad motor Rivians and the Model S plaid. They’re all just ridiculous.
