On my Taycan GTS MY23 (with Extended Warranty until June 2029) the Timer and Profiles stopped working, ignoring the targeted level of charging, ignoring the preferred charging time, etc.
Porsche dealer said the downgrade of On Board Charger is needed since 22kW OBCs are generally very faulty and moreover the delivery of a new 22kW OBC unit is nowhere in sight. They offered me the financial compensation for this downgrade, amounting to EUR 1.500 in cash plus voucher amounting to EUR 1.500 for purchasing different items in Porsche shop. Finally I’v agreed and after 6 weeks the downgrade finally was done.
To my surprise, despite this OBC downgrade from 22kW to 11kW, the problem with Timer and Profiles was not solved . . . still exists.
Has anyone of you had a similar experience?
What would you suggest if you were in my shoes?

I guess there isn't much of a choice here, unfortunately.

That said, what I've observed is that now, in Switzerland at least, both the Cayenne and the Macan can be optioned with the 22kw OBC. Not the case with the Taycan, though.

This was not the case a couple of months ago. I had a discussion with someone here about this very topic, and it was shown that the Cayenne could only be optioned with the 11kw OBC. But that has now changed.

Not sure whether to interpret this as a sign that they have found another OBC provider with a more reliable design, and if so, whether this will trickle down to the Taycan.

My OBC failed last Saturday, so I reckon I'll have to swallow the pill and accept the 11kw plus bag of goodies. Still waiting for the diagnosis though.

By the way, in case it helps, my Porsche Center has agreed to fit temporarily an 11kw OBC. They mentioned that the plan for Porsche was to release a 22kw OBC in the future, despite of no confirmation on when that'll happen. But the fact that both the Cayenne and Macan do offer again it as an option in their webpage makes me feel optimistic about it.

Once that is done, they will take the car back and fit the new 22kw OBC at no cost. And if that won't happen, they agreed as well to liaise with Porsche to get a refund + compensation package, like what a lot of other people have received already.

I hope you negotiated a maximum time period also, because otherwise they will just hope that you will sell the car before that and they don't have to fulfil their end of the agreement.

Yes, end of year.

That said, it was a verbal agreement. But I bank on the fact that they’d rather keep making money on me though warranty claims and as a client, than to lose me over false promises.
