Hey forum members, I just want to see if anybody purchased this on day one. According to some Porsche insiders.m this can only be done at the time of Purchase. I guess I’m interested in the extended years and unlimited mileage since I know I’ll be putting 20+ thousand miles per year on it. How much is it and do you think it’s worth it?

I purchased a 2022 which came with 2 years CPO and I purchased a 3rd year of CPO that was $2000 for that extra year. CPO and the CPO +1 are unlimited mileage and my understanding is you can only buy the extra year at time of purchase. CPO is different than an aftermarket extended warranty which will have mileage caps and is often from a 3rd party. I plan on keeping my car a long time so I will also likely purchase an extended warranty shortly before the CPO expires in 2029

Ok thanks. I’ve definitely heard of the CPO warranties. I forgot to mention I’m building mine new. So no CPO for me, but that is truly a benefit had I went that route. I like you have long term plans. I’m sure My dealer will sent me the info but just wanted to hear from the members as well.

Thanks

I'm not heard of a Porsche unlimited warranty before. Perhaps you mean something else?

Like an extended warranty? I think it can only be extended up to a 15 y/o car.

You’re right, it’s basically an extended warranty but I think you buy it in the beginning upon initial purchase. I’ll figure out more from the finance manager, but below is the quick response I’ve received as of this post via a quick text with my sales rep

“The longest one is 72 months and unlimited miles. Cost is $14676. He said there are shorter terms and he can go over which option is best for you.”

maybe things are different in the U.S. than Europe. In Europe, if you follow this link https://warranty.porsche.com/de/de-DE, it takes you to a webpage where you enter your VIN and name and you can buy up to 3 years of extended warranty, if you already have valid approved warranty; without involving the dealership. As per this webpage, a vehicle may qualify it it's less than 14 years old and up to 200k kms on the clock.
Mine is a 2021 4S, bought in 2025 with two years approved warranty until August 2027. I entered my information in the website above and I got confirmation that I can buy extended warranty at any time until August 2027 up to three years. I even got the option for a reminder some weeks before my warranty runs out to buy at that point. Price right now is Euro 1.440 for one year, Euro 2590 for two years or Euro 3.700 for three years. Makes sense to buy for three years if you intend to keep the car as it's cheaper per year; or you intend to sell and make the car more attractive to prospective buyers.
I don't think there is any difference between "CPO" and "porsche extended warranty" in Europe. Just buy it over the porsche website above and you should be good to go.

Having just purchased a taycan, It sounds like your finance manager is trying to put one over on you. You can buy the porsche extended warranty at anytime up until your base warranty expires. After that ir requires recertification. There are threads here where you can get cometitive quotes. Search for warranty, there is someone offering online quotes as well.

Ha ha such a shame right this is good feedback. Along with going to the Porsche website and I can add a Warranty at any time so maybe this is just a worry for a different day. I’ll be clear to not buy anything at time of purchase.. like you said what’s the rush
