    R8 insurance and extended warranty is surprisingly cheap in the U.K. Comparison sites quoted £3500 on a Taycan. Some insurers on the comparison sites wouldn’t quote. If EV uptake is to be encouraged the insurance situation needs to be sorted.

    Insurance quote was a bit ridiculous. it’s cheaper to insure a R8 V10 which I guess is why Taycans are so cheap in the U.K.

    Ive read the horror stories. Not looking forward to it but will check this evening. Im guessing it is the battery replacement risk that pushes the price up? Surely these cars aren’t a theft target? Even 911’s aren’t compared to M and RS cars. I guess this guy has a lot to answer for.

    Not had a insurance quote yet. I will check today. Not expecting it to be worse than other cars I’ve had quotes on (R8, 991, m3 x drive) Ive been trying to learn as much as I can as I’ve had no interest in EV’s before now.

    That would be great. Everything I read about battery packs scares me tbh. I thought battery costs were likely to increase with increased demand for their raw materials? I was leaning towards a turbo but I’ve seen a really nice gts.
