  1. car charged to 100% when the profile was set at 85%. Why?

As a theory, there is a chance that sometimes the battery is charged to 100% just to stay calibrated (if it's the case - this should be documented somewhere). Similar to the new iPhones, where you can set the maximum charging level to 80%, but sometimes the battery will still be charged up to...
  2. Porsche announces EPA range estimates for 2025 Taycan

    Comparison table from https://insideevs.com/news/727643/2025-porsche-taycan-epa-range/
  3. Taycan production slowdown

@chun , just accept the fact that you have a car built on a new platform, the first electric Porsche of the initial release years. The company implemented many complex/unique technical solutions at that time (e.g. Taycan was the first production car with an operating voltage of 800V) to create a...
  4. Gen 1 vs Gen 1.5 differences

Here is a good video about the get 1 -> gen 1.5 differences There is also "OutOfSpec Podcast" episode, explaining the differences in more details.
  5. Gen 1 vs Gen 1.5 differences

With this attitude, you don't need a Porsche Taycan. There are probably no cars in the world, that have 0 issues (except for Toyota for sure :D). Trying to find problems on forums and convincing actual owners that they have issues is a very strange way to make a purchase decision.
  6. New Taycan beats competitor's long range models in cold temps

To summarise - bad Tesla brakes helps its efficiency, okay :D (and probably dual-motor setup, that leads to better 0-100, 1/4 mile) But please just stop, no-one compares handling/suspension/brakes/Nordschleife records in this test. From the video we see that RWD Taycan was less energy-efficient...
  7. New Taycan beats competitor's long range models in cold temps

There were no performance tests in the video. I just found @Sebbo's statement "surprising that a sports car beats the Tesla and Merc" quite controversial. Taycan's efficiency was one of the worst. The only reason why the Taycan went further is its large 97 kWh battery. While it's nice to have it...
  8. New Taycan beats competitor's long range models in cold temps

To be fair, It's hard to call rear-wheel drive base Taycan a truly sport-car. Dual-motor Tesla in the video is much more efficient and even has better 0-100 time (what of course doesn't make it a sport car). So no surprises here, for me personally Taycan's efficiency is still a bit disappointing.

Here are some details about J1 -> J1.2 efficiency improvements
  10. "TURBO".

  11. PCM - Taycan pre facelift and future developement

Kind of surprised about these J1.2 -> J1 software updates discussions. The J1.2 system is still extremely slow and feels like an OS from the early 2010s. It would be nice to have some updates in J1 cars for sure, but they are mostly minor. What is really annoying is that VW already has their new...
