Quick track report!
It was quite an experience to go on track with my Taycan Turbo. For me it was the first time track driving a car, I've only driven karting cars and a formula once. There were a couple of interesting findings that might be of interest to others who want to try this. First I...
Taking my MY25 Turbo to the track today! A car dealer is hosting a track day at Alastaro. It's my first time on the track with a car so probably not going to push it too much, but it'll be interesting!
I have a McLaren Artura Spider on order which should arrive by next summer, that should be a beast on the track. I was very impressed by it when test driving (the coupe). But I'm also interested in tracking my Taycan Turbo at least once, to see the difference to the Artura. In a straight line...
This track day thing is so cool. I will do it one day.
I've been considering taking my J1.2 Taycan Turbo to a track by myself. There is only one proper track in Finland (Alastaro Circuit), one downside is that it doesn't have on site charging. The closest fast charger is like 30 minutes away...
For me (based in Finland) the 100% improved cold weather/battery charging speed is in practice the improvement I will find most useful. It will make the car so much more practical when doing winter road trips. The increased range/efficiency doesn't hurt either, but the cold charging speed...
Taycan has a very low phantom drain, meaning it can be parked for weeks and the main battery will lose only a tiny bit of charge. If something else is happening, it is definitely not normal.
I think that's a good decision by Porsche, just another small thing they improved in MY25. Charging the battery all the way to full is not great for the battery so it should be done only when actually needed, also additionally every kW added to the battery at the charger will actually cost some...
As an EU based MY25 owner I can comment on the speed limit warning and the lane keep. Neither can be permanently disabled but both can be relatively easily disabled on each drive. The speed limit warning disabling can be configured to either of the two diamond buttons (steering wheel or dash)...
One thing I agree with TeecanToocan is that I don't believe this type of damage to a robust steel plate can happen from just normal sized rocks bouncing up from the road, for example driving on gravel roads. That would cause only superficial scrapes, not dents such as this.
I've driven on...
Even if nothing else, we should be very concerned about insurance costs skyrocketing and this could not only lead to that but also some insurance companies simply refusing to insure the car. That is a real problem and I hope they understand this at Porsche and do some improvements.
That dealer is showing a great example of bad customer service. Thankfully we have the internet now so that we can all see this bullshit.
My advice is to discuss the situation with PCNA and demand immediate assistance. Due to the time limit set by the dealer (which is completely ridiculous) I...
First 1000 kilometres driven. It's a brilliant car. Enjoying every minute with it. All the changes I made to my build versus my previous Taycan have made the experience even better than before and the increased range doesn't hurt.
When it comes to range, I still have very limited experience of...
Hard to know how many do what, at least without a poll and a good amount of answers.
Using the on/off button is just a waste of time however, as locking the car will shut it down anyway. Once I understood this, which was very early on, I've rarely had any need for the on/off button, especially...
