It's usually not the pcm update that takes time, there'll be other modules which need to be updated at the same time too, and from what I've heard when having updates in the past, sometimes they fail and need to be pushed a few times. I'd plan for at least 3 or 4 hours... And that's assuming the...
That's interesting... Did they comp you within a current subscription, or you got to renewal and they gave you some free months?
I asked the same question and didn't get that offer...
Yea. In my mind the fix will be to move to a build the J1.2 runs currently which is known good, and it's the other parts of the car which can't be updated via OTA will require a dealer visit so everything plays nice. It'll end up as a technical bulletin and you'll only get the update if you ask...
My understanding of the issue is the density of charge stations visible to the onboard nav which causes a caching issue. Looking on the Porsche app on my phone the number of chargers in Croatia vs the UK for example is massively different which could explain why it's working ok over there.
Reimbursement/refunds/free extensions to connect services should be pushed by anyone effected by this.... Money talks, and this would quickly get bumped up priority lists internally to resolve when subscription revenue starts to take a hit.
A couple months ago I held my hand up to help a user on reddit out with testing fitment\usability of a MagSafe phone holder for the Taycan.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so the feedback on the initial prototype was a bit picky looking back (as the prototype was pretty good to start with!).
A...
Back on topic... My Taycan is in for a heater recall today and I mentioned the navigation issue as I dropped the car off... The service chap knew right away about the issue, and also recommended the "workaround" to disable the charge planning.... So either there's some lurkers on the thread, or...
I had the same thing done a while ago, it makes no difference.
Bonkers that dealers are wasting everyone's time with updates... I suppose it means they don't need to say out loud they have a fleet of cars out there with pretty key functionality broken...
You say that in jest, but if Porsche allowed car play or android auto apps to precondition the battery like the built in nav does, I think most would be happier than this bug being fixed for the built in nav...
MY22 in the UK, on 3885 after a dealer update a few weeks ago, and I had the rebooting navigation on a 250mile round trip.
Has to be a bad map update or something if it's suddenly effecting so many cars at once
So I attempted this over the weekend and unfortunately it's not as straightforward as getting the 9J1971103A wiring loom part and adding the mirror. The loom does give the connector to plug into a dimming mirror, however there's no plug for the loom to connect to.
I also attempted to just give...
I *think* the part number for the loom with the required plug for the auto dimming mirror is "9J1971103A", and the one without the plug is possibly "9J1971103". I can't find any images of the "9J1971103" part to compare the differences though.
Anyone with access to a Porsche parts catalog able...
