Seems cool, but on some deeper level it bothers me that it's all just fake, like so much of the modern driving experience is. Fake vents on cars, manufactured exhaust farts, fake engine noises, and now fake gearshifts.

Like I guess it's fun, but it's just... fake.

Also it's funny this car will have to be heavily nerfed in order to not annihilate the 911 at half the cost.

I would rather that they work on getting the 718 EV out the door already instead of wasting engineering cycles on tomfoolery. It’s tantamount to all the effort Rivian puts into stupid “Halloween Costumes” every year, instead of working on lowest common denominator features like cruise control resume.

My inerim daily until my Cayenne EV arrives is an Ioniq 5N. I went in with an open mind. I read all the glowing reviews. Turns out I hate the sounds, the fake gears. I, for sure, will be turning those "features" off.

I'll reserve my judgment for when 718 comes, but so far I'm not impressed by what I was told is coming. Fake reving? New fake sounds? Why? I do however think there's an opportunity here to make something great. I would like to be able to control max torque and some audible feedback would be nice. I understand this is very much like gear shifting, but it doesn't have to be fake. Shifting between RWD and AWD on the fly with my input would be nice too. Limiting the max lateral force and therefore engaing drifting would be nice. Track data and analysis within My Porsche app... I want the car to be predictable, decisions should be made by me or physics (when in "Driver" mode). When a driver can make assumptions on the behavior, based on experience, then the connection between the car and driver becomes emotional. PAR for instance however genius it is, I feel, works against that emotional bonding.

Headlights design seem to be somewhere in the middle between j1.1 taycan and j1.2, probably due to the fact that it started development before between those 2 also.

They look better than j1.2 taycan, but still worse than the bulb shape of the j1.1

0 exterior changes on the latest mules, they only seem to be testing the new fake pdk, which would indicate that it's getting closer to release - assuming they use same batteries modules as cayenne

I wonder how much parts commonality there is between this and the taycan. Same headlights maybe?

It's stuck in England and I'm in USA. It was custom built for me. Has the VIN from a 1979 Mini but not a single part remains. The body is 100% new and is E-coated like modern cars. Left hand drive. rear mounted Honda K20 (lightly tuned) with catalyst, 6-speed with LSD and lower numerical final drive to match smaller tire diameter of a Mini. Air conditioning and a US based stereo with Android Auto.

The builder can't seem to find a way to get it into the USA. They had no problem receiving payment though. At this moment I don't know what to do and any advice would be appreciated.

Now that sounds like fun :D

I have a soft spot for minis having had one as my first car - mine was a Clubman estate. I worked for a car spares place so it ended up GT spec performance wise. I was once stopped by the police at 3am, 7 up - giving mates a lift home from a nightclub and wanting to get home quickly :)

I'd contact a specialist importer - have a look here maybe : Import Regulations for Car Shipping to USA | Ship Cars Ltd

Have never exported to the US, but it looks like your 1979 VIN could come in very handy.
