Taycan on a beach day.
I took my Taycan out on Pismo Beach Saturday after a full PPF.
It's a 4S+ in Volcano Grey and Bordeaux Red and Black seats.

P.S. Sand got everywhere and took hours to clean, likely will not be doing that again, but it was fun!
Efficiency seems to drop when traveling on sand pretty severely, I drove about 8 miles total on sand. Only one donut.

Record early opening to the summit of the Mt Washington NH auto road on April 17, shattering last year's opening on the afternoon of Apr 24 (then all of the following day, Apr 25), which in turn shattered the 2024 opening on May 4, which had also broken the prior record of either 2013 with May 10 or possibly 2001 a bit earlier.

This of course is partly a sad sign of our diminishing snowpack this spring.
But also, the road was fully paved in 2022, and I suspect their homegrown technique for clearing the culverts of ice has improved over time. (A blog post on this tedious process years ago looked like something out of the nineteenth century.)

And still plenty of snow just around the corner from the parking pull-out.

... so I didn't bother taking any summit Taycan pics.

But afterwards, my Facebook feed picked up some strange Page that had reposted a picture taken towards the end of the day when the summit was in the clouds (though fortunately no chance of rain), and although I couldn't recognize any of the skiers, I did recognize something else:

Yes, that would be ... BAD!

BTW though, driving down such a road is a hoot in a Taycan, or probably any EV come to think of it.
Instead of using engine braking and shifting gears while watching those RPMs, avoiding the brake pedal as much as possible, no worries at all, and I gain ~8% SoC on the descent.

My wife and I just finished a trip to Turkiye and the Netherlands - so beautiful and so much history.

in Istanbul, I kept my eyes out for Porsches and while I saw a couple of 911s, I was unable to find a Taycan until I saw this picture, which of course caught my attention. I kept my eye out, but never saw it in the wild.

We had a fabulous time and visited many archaeological sites in Türkiye from Troy to the ancient cave homes of Cappadocia.

I was able to discover a couple things that might be of interest to this group. The first is at the historical site of Laodikeia.

Below is the The Syrian Street through the East Byzantine Gate. Notice the grooves in the stones from chariot wheels and of course what would a street be without speed bumps. They look remarkably like the ones that are on our streets today.

Of course there were many more lovely sites, but I wasn’t able to get any other Taycan shots from Turkiye.

However, the Netherlands was a different story. I saw several there, including this one, parked and charging on the street. No model label but it looks like a J1.2 turbo.
