Lol, I have never seen another Neptune GTS ST, so cool to know a fellow south florida owner is out there!

I dropped off my car at Porsche North Broward last Thursday, and they may have been doing some test driving in that area to sort out an aberrant sound I am hearing at certain speeds, barring that it wasn't my car, it is still with them and hoping to pick up tomorrow.

And you probably wont. I have a Neptune CT but doubt my wife could tell the difference.

Yikes, I have been swapping tires every 8K miles up until now, as I drive the car in low mode all the time and the wear on the inner tread goes down to the cord almost by then. I was told that the Porsche dealer is required to do the alignment in normal height, and at low mode the camber will cause premature wear on the inside tread as a result. I have mentally prepared for this added extra cost of tires due to my preference in ride height.

But it seems that it may be even more costly with these P Zero R's ? Will swap them out to something else if needed at the end of their life.

How do you like how they drive?
I don't have much (really any) experience on other tires in a Taycan so read this with a grain of salt, but the tires matched with my GTS is way more capable than I am :)

Just drove off with these and yes, I prioritized life of tire over performance as I am not an aggressive driver. But first, I felt like I am the bus driver b/c the car rides high even though I have chassis set to "lower." Then I get on the highway and woah! The car feels like it wants to bank left to right, I feel like I am driving on an ice rink and its not feeling like its grabbing the road at all.

I am not sure if I can return these after driving off the lot of Discount Tire, but I am thinking about trying.

Do others have similar experience? Will these guys "break in?"
Dang, we tried to warn ya. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/tires-michelin-crossclimate-2-vs-ps4.35264/page-2

To answer your question about break in- If you don’t like them now, I doubt you’ll like them better when worn.

My experience with new tires has been that brand new they feel amazing (other than some limited traction in the first few miles due to all the stuff on them). But the ride, noise, feel etc is usually the best it will be.
Maybe you can still swap them out?

Yes I appreciate all the advice and plan to swap them out. Life is too short to drive on nasty tires.

What model Taycan do you have?
Also, they may have left the car in "Jack Mode" which you can see in the PCM.
I'd have assumed that it would automatically reset as you hit speed, but it could have failed "on"

I have just the base model. 2022. I checked the chassis height and its as I had before. I don't know how to check for "jack mode."

Drop the car into low. Raise to highest, and verify that all four corners are pretty even (measure from ground to top of wheel arch). Drop to lowest again, then back to normal. Verify once more that the corners are pretty even. Make sure to be on level surface when doing this.

Check tyre pressure accoring to correct wheel settings in the PCM. Take another drive and see if the car performs the same.

FYI, my car was delivered with P Zero Rs. They just got measured by the local Porsche service shop at 4mm, 4mm, 4mm and 5mm with only 2800 miles on the car. I need to validate these numbers but that's about 800 miles/mm and they start new with 7 to 7.5mm.
Follow up to the measurements... never trust a dealer to measure your tires (do they measure on the wear bar or something?) :p

Actual measures from Jan 2 and May 14:

It's something like... In the PCM... settings>car>additional (chassis) settings>activate jack mode.

If you didn't know about this, and your tyre place isn't used to Taycans, the chances are they didn't put it in jack mode in the first place. Which may have caused issues... BUT I think only if your car has air suspension.

Crossclimates are directional (I am pretty sure). Have they put the tyres on the right way round? There'll be an arrow on the sidewall noting "outside" on it and it should point forwards.

As others noted, check wheel bolt torque and tyre pressures are correct.

And finally new tyres do have release agent on. It's always recommended to take it easy for a few hundred miles. Though personally I've never noticed symptoms like yours.

We've had Crossclinates on a heavy SUV and they've been really good. I wouldn't be inclined to put them on the Taycan, but the tyres themselves should not be "dangerous" IMO, especially if the car is being driven gently. It sounds like there's something more at play here.

So I found the "jack mode" (thanks for that) and the box wasn't checked. And I don't think they would have known to look for it. I'll ask the manager. Thx

Can't happen, it automatically disengages it as soon as you start moving the car at a low speed.

I had discount tire put Michelin sport AS on mine and I immediately noticed pulling to the left and right during hard acceleration. Thought it was alignment too but it wasn't. They broke in after about 1,000 miles and now they feel fine. I suspect yours will as well.

I love the CC2's on my 2012 Cayenne, especially on long interstate trips.
