Yes, we have a wonderful car. I can use a Faberge Egg to hold up the corner of my couch, but it’s a bit of a waste. :-)
My opinion is mine, And others will use their cars for many other purposes. More power to them; It’s a free world.
Peace. Stay healthy.
He's doing less than 50 mph (80kph) for most of the test.
Yup. You'll definitely get great range driving that slowly.
(You'd also hold up traffic if the streets weren't empty)
Not exactly real world driving. Well, not MY real world.
Tesla once said that the sweet spot for maximum range in...
An appointment to install "Software Update WLC5" is scheduled for my car on Friday. I do not know the contents of this update.
Anyone have insight or a source of further information? I will attempt to get more information from my Service Advisor.
If you are in Normal mode, you’ll never notice the 2-speed transmission. If you are in Sport or Sport+, it will drop into first gear frequently if you it give any decent amount of throttle at low speeds. I expect the reviewer had it in Sport+ (I haven’t watched the video yet)
I found I could...
I hope Porsche is reading them, too! I think they probably are (I used to when I shipped new products). But I don’t expect direct answers. That’s not how most development teams work.
I’m too old to be less than frank. What will they do? Fire me? No one has paid me! :)
I knew I had seen a maximum charge SOMEWHERE... but I forgot where. I don’t yet have a home charger so all my charging so far has been at public chargers.
ok... here’s where you set maximum charge: In the TIMER. (Not at all obvious)
Set up a Departure Timer. In there you specify the target...
The manual says don’t do that. But I can’t read.
So I’m just going to charge to 100% because I live in Maine. There’s a lot of rural roads in this state that won’t be on the charging grid anytime soon.
Also, I like being the extreme test case.
Be careful following me..,you might not like...
"Get a new Porsche and put it in the garage as an investment? Probably not, but American Don Louv has gone the other way, writes InsideEVs.
Originally a much shorter journey, it traveled all over America and across Canada, yielding 17,700 kilometers or 11,000 miles.
DC Charging Rates of 100-150kW will result in battery temperatures of 95-100°F.
DC Charging Rates of 250kW resulted in observed battery temperatures as high as 121°F
The charging sessions usually started with battery temp 85-90°F. (assuming the car pre-conditioned the battery as I was...
The car will attempt to cool the battery pack using the AIr Conditioning (battery conditioning).
They suggest not driving in “Range” mode after DC charging in high ambient temperatures because Range mode has reduced cooling capacity to get the battery back down to an appropriate temperature.
Well, I’ve been quarantined and Sheltered in Place for two weeks since my trip. I guess I’m safe, and I managed to stay one step ahead of (and six feet away from) trouble.
Which also means I’m not Donny CoronaSeed, aka patient Zero, spreading coughs wherever I go.
I hope you all are staying...
It’s an excellent example of the basic difference between Journalism and Blogging.
One involves original research and facts.
The other is scraping other people’s content and reposting without understanding or care, for the purpose of click-thru.
Excellent idea! I also passed the list to the regional trainer.
Yes, STRs. I started calling them bugs in the (cough) 80s... and never really stopped. The profession has changed quite a bit over the decades, but it certainly hasn’t gotten any easier given the incredible complexity of modern...
Laughing my ass off.
A writer from Motor Trend approached me, wanting to write a story about my trip. He wanted me to send him photographs to go with the story.
So, out of respect and admiration of their normal excellent photo quality, I sorted through the “good photos” I took with my Nikon...
Side Note: When pulling up to a Charging Station, you'll want to fully power off the car (Press & Hold the power button for 3 seconds). Some Charging Stations will fail to charge the car if the "ignition" is ON. Most Charging stations don't care, but some do. If a DC Fast Charger fails to...
Your profile is set to "minimum charge 85%". Therefore regardless of preferred charging time settings, it will bring the charge up to 85%. Then wait until Preferred Time to further charge.
Seems to be "behaving as designed" in that respect.
Slow? Yup. It definitely is.
