  1. Fitcamx dashcam installation

I doubt it. I had an almost identical cam installed on my Model X for 4 years and Tesla didn't care. All this cam does is bypass the rain sensor. You can easily just wire it back if really necessary, but I tested the rain sensor and it's working fine as it did in my Model X. A dash cam in...
  2. Fitcamx dashcam installation

I just installed the Fitcamx dash cam, and man was it a bitch to install. I don't know how other people did it so easily, or within 30 minutes. Admittedly, I'm not very handy, but I spent 3 HOURS doing it because I really didn't want to damage my new car. Maybe I'm a total amateur, but it is...
  3. Help! Calling ex Tesla Model 3 owners

I think you are misinterpreting my post. The original thread is comparing the Tesla Model 3 with the Taycan for a Model 3 owner who is thinking of switching. I am simply mentioning one difference which I *tentatively* prefer. I say tentatively because I've only driven my Taycan for 30km (besides...
  4. Scratches on black gloss interior trim (above glovebox)

Any PPF guy can install the precut film for you in 10 minutes. It will hide all the fine scratches, so don’t even bother trying to polish as you may do more damage. When my guy wrapped my whole car, he did all the glossy plastic as well.
  5. Who Purchased Extended Warranty?

Btw I did buy the extended warranty. I regretted not buying it on my Model X so I did it this time around.
  6. How to set to profile to only charge to 85%

You were right. I set the general profile and it stopped at 50%. This is opposite of what some people have said where profiles only start charging below the minimum charge but do NOT stop until it hits 100%. But why does the battery continue to show the wavy animation even though it has stopped...
  7. Help! Calling ex Tesla Model 3 owners

Thank you. I read your post but in there, you say that "It should be preferred to use the motor and battery over the friction brakes for the following reasons: putting the energy back into the battery will increase the range (relative to friction braking)". This tells me that it is preferable to...
  8. How to set to profile to only charge to 85%

OK, that is what I have gathered. So I've set my timers as per the below screenshot (haven't tried it yet though). I leave the 50% timer on all the time, and the day I decide to drive, I turn on the 80% timer. But technically I don't want to depart at 2:00am - the only reason why I set it that...
  9. How to set to profile to only charge to 85%

I've read in several places though that the car does NOT stop charging at the minimum charge once it reaches it. When the battery is below the minimum charge, this triggers the car to start charging and it will keep going to 100%. Others have said what you said. That's why I find it so confusing!
  10. How to set to profile to only charge to 85%

I don’t know why Porsche makes it so confusing. What do I do if I want to keep the car always charged to 50%, and then bump it up to 80% on a day that I do want to drive the car? In a Tesla it’s simple: move the limit bar over.
  11. Help! Calling ex Tesla Model 3 owners

Does someone know if the car is more efficient with regen on or off in the Taycan? I have no idea, and just leave regen I’m auto right now. Why would someone choose one over the other?
  12. Help! Calling ex Tesla Model 3 owners

Again, I'm new to the Taycan, but with one pedal driving, it's one less thing for your mind to focus on. Now with the Taycan, I need to keep my foot much more active, managing the accelerator and brake.
  13. Help! Calling ex Tesla Model 3 owners

I've owned every Tesla and have driven the 4S for a day so far. So my opinion is no exhaustive whatsoever. But the main difference to me between Tesla and the 4S is the ride quality. There is literally no comparison, and ride quality is my biggest complaint with all Tesla's. The air suspension...
  14. Dealing with the front license plate

I drilled the hole larger to one side, and now I was able to mount it. All is good. But I did end up scraping the bracket while backing out of a driveway. The bracket reduces ground clearance by half inch.
  15. CT alarm issue, how common is it?

Sad that someone had to make a video of this for brand new owners.....
  16. Dealing with the front license plate

But look closely. I'm using the same hole as you, third one from the left. I did use the freshly drilled holes which are slightly larger than the other two. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. You installed on the driver's side, right? I just went out and tried again, and for sure the hole is not in...
  17. Dealing with the front license plate

Yeah, but mine does NOT fit. I need to try and drill a new hole and see if it works.
  18. Dealing with the front license plate

Emailed them 24 hours ago and no response.
  19. Best interior screen protector film for purchase?

I decided to only cover the gloss dash area with XPEL because I was worried it would be sticky. Glass is also very durable.
  20. Individual Mode (Am I being stupid?)

How do I programme individual mode?
