    Odd Boot Behaviour

Well I am not always behind the car. A common scenario: we are walking away from the car, my kid forgets something in the trunk, I open it remotely but can’t close it afterwards. It is not a big deal I need to walk 10 meters and close it but it is annoying.

    Odd Boot Behaviour

What I find ridiculous though is that you can’t close it using the key fob. All my previous cars did it. I don’t know if this is a Porsche decision for all their cars or just for the Taycan. Anyway I find it annoying

    EV tires best for Taycans

I have 21’ wheels. I had the Pirelli pzero fron Factory and the front tires were completely worn out at 18k kms. I switched to Goodyears Eagle F1 and I am happy for now. I don’t know about the wear yet but consumption is better

How many of you with Taycans have rear doors that open smoothly ( when opening the doors )

Thanks @Ren, I understood your challenge. But I was trying to confirm with @jvincent the symptoms and more importantly the fix as this can be very helpful

How many of you with Taycans have rear doors that open smoothly ( when opening the doors )

@jvincent I feel a “resistance” with the front passenger door as well when I open it. It feels like the window doesn’t drop quickly enough to let the door open without resistance. Is that what you had? Can you please share how they fixed it? Because my dealer told me a year back that he didn’t...

Redshift Performance - News & Updates - Secondary ECU in the mail without shipping original!

You can use CarsScanner app if you have an OBD dongle to measure the 0-100kmh (or 0-60mph). It is a cheaper alternative vs the draggy but fairly accurate.

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

Unfortunately, the guy who said that to you has no clue. This is what science says: As the experiment shows, it is more about depth of charge and not about #of charge cycles. The 4 scenarios in the graph allow you to travel the equivalent of 1.5M kms for an EV that has 400km range. It shows...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

I didn’t say that you arrive at your 1st charging station after 400km. I said the range was 400km For my last trip from Paris to Aix this summer I arrived to the 1st charging station after 358.6 km with 9% left. And this was in normal travel conditions with A/C on, music on, 2 adults and 2 kids...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

You might want to change that. Just charge at 50% only and plug it everyday instead of charging it at 80% once every 2 weeks. You almost don’t drive your car so technically, it is almost stored all the time. Also small depth of charges preserve much more the battery. My daily trips are very...

🔋 Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance (Battery Degradation Data by Taycan Owners)

With 7k kms in 3 years, it looks like you don’t drive it a lot. Your car is probably stored for long periods? The best way to limit degradation is to keep it between 30% and 50% (closer to 30% if it is very hot where you live and where you store your car) Can you share how often you charge your...

When did Car Scanner Start Using CarPlay?

Yes I noticed it recently as well. The cool thing is that you have the acceleration stats in CarPlay now that you can reset etc A cheap alternative to Dragy and they don’t have to install a weird thing on the windshield

Porsche considering retrofit of some 2025 Taycan improvements to pre-facelift model (battery management system, cluster charging screen)

Yes agree for the 2nd point, this is also what they mentioned. It will be better but it won’t match the new capabilities. However for the max charging rate if the only reason they limited it to 270 kWh was due to thermal management and they are saying it is improved now (and this is the piece...

Redshift ECU Upgrade on my 2024 Taycan GTS -- Dragy Performance Results

Wow this is good. I didn’t know this was possible. That helps a lot knowing that you won’t leave your car without an ECU especially if it is your daily drive. The last unanswered question, is the upgrade worth it for a RWD model? Hopefully someone will post their dragy results at some point

Porsche considering retrofit of some 2025 Taycan improvements to pre-facelift model (battery management system, cluster charging screen)

Salut à toi et à la suisse! Yes it probably will. But we don’t know how the battery prices will evolve. It could be worth it when you have a car that you want to keep beyond 8 years because you like it and you believe it will represent something one day. Think about it as rebuilding an engine...

Porsche considering retrofit of some 2025 Taycan improvements to pre-facelift model (battery management system, cluster charging screen)

That’s different. It was to improve this “Optimized software is available for the thermal management (TME) control unit to increase the robustness of the electric passenger compartment heater.” What they are referring to in the article will potentially allow a higher charging speed (above the...

Porsche considering retrofit of some 2025 Taycan improvements to pre-facelift model (battery management system, cluster charging screen)

Hi all I stumbled into this article relaying statements from Mayk Mienkotter (Porsche spokesperson for Taycan) to Australian media about the fact Porsche is considering to retrofit improvement from J1.2 to J1.1 https://www.drive.com.au/news/porsche-taycan-owners-could-score-upgrades/ Some...

Porsche Ranks First in 2024 US Initial Auto Quality - J.D. Power Study

It not only in the US. I am in France and insurance works this way and I am guessing it is the case in all EU. Not sure why insurance would care about reliability. They are not even aware that you dropped your car to the shop for repair. That’s warranty business. Insurance cares about cost...
