Just to be clear, this isn't a bug. The alarm system senses elevation change and triggers.
You just tap lock twice to lock the car without activating that part of the alarm. This is true on many cars, I remember getting back to my Mustang years ago on a ferry and the alarm was going off for the...
Paid session?
EA customer service should (and consistently has for me) start a free session when they see you're in a Taycan.
Call EA support, tell them the Porsche app is not working and they are supposed to start a free session for you.
Porsche will react by doing nothing. Why would they care? Every other luxury EV is also losing the $7,500 rebate so the playing field is still level.
Very few people were actually going to buy or not buy a Taycan or Etron GT based on getting a $7,500 tax rebate.
Now where Porsche MIGHT care is...
I don't believe RCorsa's concerns are valid in your case. You have a $5,000 deposit and (presumably) a signed build sheet for a custom ordered car. While build sheets and such say the price can change, that is regarding the scenario #1 I posted and does not apply to scenario #2. The price can...
On the bright side, this makes existing Taycan owners very happy as it's a clear increase to the value of used Taycans. If anyone thinks Porsche will lower the price of US Taycans to compensate, well, I have a lovely island to sell you. :CWL:
There are two scenarios.
1) If your build hasn't been finalized, ie.. the final date where changes are accepted and the car enters factory queue. MSRP -from Porsche- can change before this time. The cost of options and recommended MSRP from Porsche is set at the build date, anything before then...
Who have you talked to at PCNA? My advice is to look up email addresses for executives ([email protected]) and send them an email. Polite but emphatic. One will probably take notice and have someone from their team work with you directly, which is MUCH better than going through the...
Believe it or not that's a pretty great lease offer for a Taycan, probably the best I've seen. Porsche leases are utterly absurd.
Unfortunately the dealership is not pulling your leg on that one, the Taycan has an enormous backlog and as you've experienced many dealerships are including up to a...
How pushy were they about all of this? Did they put in writing that "you must get these addons for an allocation" or was this more a pushy salesperson? Did you get the GM involved?
Just curious. If the GM wasn't involved I'd make them aware.
Oh, gotcha. Yes, it has unfortunately become common. I don't know if it's every dealership but many are charging above MSRP one way or another. It's not just Porsche, demand is higher than supply for many cars and dealerships are licking their chops.
I hate the practice and agree it's unethical...
I'm certainly not defending their behavior and I wouldn't purchase from them. You can certainly attempt to have them remove those add ons now.
But in terms of getting your deposit back or somehow forcing them to not include addons you ordered.. I don't think you have any options. You signed an...
If you're going to be there every 2 weeks I would leave it unplugged while gone and plug it in when you're there. Try to have it at 50-80% charge when you leave.
As long as it's not getting super low/out of charge while you're gone I think that's the method with the least amount of risk. If you...
I would avoid Crayon/chalk in your situation, Chalk is a polarizing color that you should only get if you LOVE it.
Color is a really hard one. The Turbo Aero wheels look great so I wouldn't be concerned about those. Volcano Grey and Dolomite are safe, classic colors. Be aware Dolomite has a...
Unfortunately it is quite different. You had the opportunity to order elsewhere or refuse at the time and see if they'd still give you the allocation.
I agree that it sucks and I wouldn't use that dealership but they are allowed to do that.
So no, you don't have any recourse in that...
Tell them you'll take the car without any addons you didn't order or you'll walk & accurately report your experience to PCNA, Yelp & Google.
In no world can they keep your deposit when they're trying to force you into addons. Make sure you do this via email so you have a hard copy.
If they...
One thing I didn't mention in regards to this thread. The cameras suck but they certainly aren't "dangerous", unless the danger is curbing your rims. People that fully rely on cameras and automated software on vehicles are the danger. Use your eyes & ears and drive the car, cameras are for...
There's just no getting around the fact that the cameras on the Taycan are garbage and basically useless.
I personally don't use them to park even on vehicles with excellent cameras, except for minor adjustments which work fine with the Taycan system.
But it is definitely disappointing that...
