Looking at the news stories, it looks like they periodically stopping and starting production. It doesn't seem to be a complete shutdown, just periodic stops and starts. Just heard today that I have a production slot in August for my order placed in Nov. We'll see how that goes...

My (ancient 2013) Lexus CT200h has similar breaking noise. I eventually figured out that it was the mechanical break engaging. If regen is enough (lighter braking), I don’t hear it. With harder braking or braking at low speed or stationary, I do. Wonder if that is what you are experiencing?
