Policy on these is confusing. I have a 2024 Cross Turismo, in service date Jan 15, 2024. Porsche emailed me to say these are available and where did I want it shipped. Got an email confirmation that it was being sent. No charge incurred for me.

At the risk of taking this sideways, a friend just spent 6 mos away, and hooked the 12v on his EV6 to a smart charger. That charger was plugged into a WiFi outlet, and he had it programmed to come on for 3 hours once per week. When he got home car was ready to go, no problems.

No issues like that here.

I only see a bar when I use “Timer”. I find it easier to use a profile, mine is set at 85%. Unless I change a setting, when I plug in to my L2 charger, it just charges to 85% and stops. No line. Yes, I agree it isn’t intuitive.

You have to set your own priorities. Between those two, Taycan for pure handling, Macan gives up “some” handling but adds comfort and better usability. I had a Macan S and later a GTS.

To start, I love my Taycan, but the market is terrible. According to CarEdge, Taycan is #6 worst selling car in US in March 2025 with a 229 day supply. To me, anyone who cannot negotiate a hefty discount isn’t a savvy buyer.

I have ‘24 CT. Have had zero problems with 12V, but did have a rattle in rear from day one. There was a tsb for a rear latch problem. I think they actually modified the latch to a new design. Once replaced, no more rattles.

Why not convert to hardwire? That pigtail on the ChargePoint can be removed with three lever clicks, it is probably toast anyway, then run power right onto those same connectors. Done. Using a plug is just not optimal.
