Not arguing with the overall conclusion, just the way the numbers are presented is inconsistent. Percentages of percentages often get complicated. Could be that that is the losses of the stuff that isn’t recuperated, but the way it is presented doesn’t add up (literally).
This doesn’t make sense. If 18% of the original energy goes to drivetrain losses in the electric case (seems reasonable), then recuperation can’t get that back, so there’s no way it is more than 82% efficient. This is weird math at best.
I made it onto Lake Wanaka, which left Emden July 6, and is estimated to arrive in Houston July 28. The Emden system does not seem fair... hope you make it soon!
My car is on a boat.
I noticed in the configurator that since I ordered it, the package P4R (remote parkassist incl. lane change assist) has gone down from USD$2,550 when I ordered it at the beginning of May, to $1,610 on the configurator today.
Did anyone else notice this change? Any reason...
Unexpectedly got an email this morning saying my 2024 Taycan CT 4S has left Emden! Looking at the json it seems it is on Lake Wanaka. I was not expecting it to leave Emden so soon: it arrived at Emden on June 26 (slightly ahead of schedule), and had been delayed once but wasn't forecast to leave...
I'm wondering if the first 2024s are actually in people's hands yet, and if so, whether there is anything unexpected or different compared to MY23.
I just got notification that my 2024 has left Emden for Houston.
My car continues to be ahead of schedule. Actual dates:
June 18th started production, 22nd complete, 23rd on way to port, 26th arrived at port.
Now the real test. Will it really get on a boat to Houston on the 27th, as claimed?
I have some production photos now! And just in case anyone is interested (I certainly was), here are the dates for my predictions
June 18 — actually started building
June 19 — original build date
June 21 — 3 production photos appeared
June 24 — original completion date
June 28 — current...
My production date was set for June 19. I got an email on June 18 saying production had started. So I guess a day ahead of schedule. The production date has held steady since early May when it locked. Let's see if the rest of the (very tight) schedule holds, including delivery to dealer on July...
I’m more worried about my wife’s reaction TBH… she was reminding me how we used to spend “extra” time parking my Boxster, looking for a space that was sufficiently safe. The width is going to make this harder. Not complaining, just thinking things through in anticipation as it makes its way...
Also: do people find this frustrating in tight parking spaces, eg hospital parking garages or mall parking? Don't want to spend all my time trying to find a park to protect my precious
I realize this is a bit of a strange question (how long should a piece of string be?), but as I await my Taycan CT arrival, I am trying to figure out how to rearrange my garage and other adjustments that might be ahead. But when I look at the measurements, it strikes me that the Taycan is as...
Oh yikes I hate that. I had it on my Golf R until I used VAGcom or something to disable it. I always belt up, but often do it after I start the car… sounds like there are no active options to reprogram things like this
I've got a Taycan 4S CT heading to Houston, TX, USA, and supposedly due to my dealer on July 28. Manufacturing due to start on June 19. I presume it is not believable that it will be at the German port for exactly 1 day? It has held on this date for about a month now, except I am pretty sure the...
