A couple of snaps from last weekend. Not of a Taycan, but from a Taycan :)
As the temperatures are climbing, the car works better as a winter driver. Mileage is better, charging is faster, and best of all; the wipers are working!
This is all well & good if one is using the Porsche Charger as primary charger, which I'm not. In Norway it's equipped with a standard 230v schuko. Not recommended for more than 10A over time, so most EV owners install dedicated 20A circuits with certified wall chargers in order to be able to...
After 3 12v deaths I definitely sympathize. Check out the thread @chrisk links to. There may be some positive information coming this spring. Which is way to late for a car of this league.
It shouldn’t matter whether we use this or that certified charger, with or without profiles and timers...
Very interesting. So I guess the PLC line deactivation is not something an ordinary owner can do? At least I couldn’t find that option on the portal website.
Back from another mountain trip, just thought I’d post a few snaps in case anyone contemplate visiting Norway in winter at one point in time (the virus does seem to be a stubborn one).
And for those old enough to remember; yes - this is close to where they shot parts of “The Empire Strikes...
Thank you for your thorough writeup @daveo4EV. As a senior software engineer with over 30 years in the business, I’m inclined to agree with you here, - this sounds like a rather mundane fault in the programming logic. And that worries me. That this has been and still is a bug a year and a...
Off topic, but.... I just find it amusing that while we discuss our shared problems with the 12v battery, I get that "deer caught in the headlights" look at the dealer when the topic arises. I'm a patient man, but I'd expected a bit more from THE premium German brand... At least that the mother...
As others have pointed out on this site; there’s a relay that shuts off the 12V battery once it drops under 11,5V I think, so you’re right, it isn’t totally drained.
Nothing like in the US :). I live in the same area as @Oink. Used to live in San Diego a few years ago, so I know the size of the parking lots you’re referring to. I could actually “test” my Dodge Challenger on some of those (guess it’s safe to admit to that now).
The Taycan works fine on...
So, the dealer's garage had the 4S+ in for a checkup regarding the 12 volt issue. As I predicted, they had no clue as to what caused it. They did their computer check thing which returned no faults. Then "reprogrammed the OBC", whatever that means. Also recalibrated the windows, as the driver...
Is there a official Porsche specification stating this somewhere that I can show the dealer tomorrow? (Car’s going in for a “checkup” re the 12 volt issue. I really don’t expect any solution unfortunately. I worry that the most they’ll do is switch out the 12 volt battery and give me the...
The manual key can be a bit tricky to turn. It requires a bit more force than what feels necessary. You'll feel a somewhat distinct "click" when it actually turns over. I had to try a couple of times at first as it felt like I was close to breaking something.
Xmas vacation over. Getting ready for the return trip.
This time I added some extra coolant in the washer fluid to see if that would prevent the washer faucets from freezing up. Also ran the preheat program just prior to take off. And it seemed to do the trick. Was able to enjoy clean...
