On-board navigation is called "sat-nav" for a reason: it uses signals from satellites to determine where the car is. The car electronics then uses its stored data to place you on a map, work out how to get to your destination and give you directions. None of this has anything to do with a...
My CPO was 1 year old with 128 miles on it :like:. The only things I'd change if I'd specified it myself would have been Cherry red instead of Gentian and adding Burmester.
An even better defence against depreciation is to buy used - let someone else take the initial hit. Admittedly you can't pick and choose options but there are bargains to be had.
If an owner doesn't renew Porsche Connect I don't see that means the car stops taking back to Porsche, just that the Connect services aren't available. It's a trivial amount of money for Porsche to pay for cell phone service.
@W1NGE captured the installation message here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/new-battery-monitoring-software-update.24448/page-6#post-374745. The feeling is this is a prerequisite for this upcoming battery monitoring software; this update itself is NOT the battery monitoring software.
For anyone hoping these PCM updates will be retro-fitted: the first line of the statement reads "for the change of the model year" - so no, this is new cars only.
Fully agree with you here. OTA updates was either not on the list of requirements when the Taycan was in development or Porsche thought they'd be able to cobble something together later.
This final point highlights the real issue with OTA software updates, especially for Porsche: it's really complicated to ensure each ECU (many are safety critical) gets the correct code and works without problems with all the other ECUs. Remember also that every Taycan is pretty much unique so...
I moved from a Panamera with 18-way adaptive to a Taycan with 14-way comfort seats - even though the GTS had 18-way as standard whoever speced the car deleted them (or they weren't available at the time)! I loved the 18-way adaptive seats but I also find the 14-way comfort seats really good...
Panoramic roof? - from the driver's seat you don't even notice you have it. Plus: they break and the sculpted metal roof looks much cooler. Still, maybe I'm biased ;).
It's a buyer's market! There are plenty for sale so I'd suggest you don't jump for the first one you see - take your time and find one with the options you want.
