Why give up a perfectly good Taycan, one you love to drive? With used EV prices deep in a slump, why not ADD another "more appropriate" vehicle to your stable? I just picked up a lightly used BMW iX SUV, with two years left in warranty, for 55% of its sticker price. You could drive such a...
Quite reasonable, to my eye. One twist to employ would be to continue your shopping now, knowing your numbers, and "holding firm" to your buy price. If you find a "willing seller" along that road, great! If not, you're just one year older and wiser :-).
All else being equal, Joe, I avoid buying "introduction year" models, yet prefer buying "update" models (x.2 over x.1). Thus I'd closely study the MY2025 Taycan before opting for a MY2024 or 2023. All said, however, price depreciation on EV's has been so stunning, I'd eat my words at the right...
Hi Joe -- You have brave souls who were the "early adopters" -- pioneers in the Porsche EV launch (me, a 2021 4S, new, loaded). Yes, we've braved waves of nettlesome recalls, plus rollout issues with public charging. Most all were minor -- software updates (before going online), charging cord...
Having just read the "umpteenth" helpful post by "daveo4EV," want to give him/her a shout-out for the countless tips and answers you have provided us all on the Taycan Forum. With much appreciation to you, I wish you a Happy New Year!
After 2.5 years of ownership (front half has PPF coating), I've done the following. Hand wash when temps are reasonable (like above 50 degrees F). Use spay-on car wash and "finish" product fairly often, but only when "dusty" or so....never for "dirty." Use touchless (no brushes) drive-through...
Fantastic, guys! Likely I'll NEVER have the skills to co-develop with you. But will always be an appreciative UX test case for you. Press on, with thanks from the bleachers!
Here in the western USA, charging stations can be sparse (especially anywhere off the Interstate systems). Worse, the charging stations are still very much a work-in-progress! All the software plans go out the window when the charging station you need has some or all stations down!
We all...
As I've told my many Germanic and North American friends (with a smile), "The Taycan is a German car (it's great!). The software is also German." :-( Fortunately, I've noticed software improvements of late, and will hope for more.......
Take heart, as my 4S steadily improved range. Am at 250 miles now, with 100% charges showing +/- 280. Doubt I yield that much as no open road travels yet. Plus I admit to heavy foot. I have an old pickup for slower transport! ?
