I've historically run Blizzak WS60 and WS70s in the winters on my cars. I would have an absolute blast with WS70s on my Subaru STi that was highly modified. I don't plan on doing that with my Taycan though, but with those tires and the suspension set up I had, it was basically a tank in the snow...
I have to agree on the overall aesthetics of the Lucid. It looks like an old Buick. The range is nice, but to be real I didn't buy a Taycan because I wanted to hypermile. I bought it because it's beautiful and fun (and is an EV to boot). Everyone has their own preference, but I definitely...
No regrets on the choice to do PPF. I do have regrets on the shop that DID my PPF though. The more time I've spent with my 'full wrap' Stealth PPF, the more I've found that they cut corners where they shouldn't have. That's my only disappointment. I won't name the shop, but I did it as a part of...
Here's what I wish we'd see in an EV platform:
I will we could see paddle shifting of recoup aggressiveness, which would effectively allow a more natural 'manual' style driving to modulate the level of recuperation similar to controlling engine braking with a manual gearbox.
I love the...
Everything I've read is that it's at least a 3 hour job for Porsche techs due to having to dismantle more than would be expected in order to handle the wiring harnesses and such. I can't seem to find a guide on the installation for a retro though. I'm continuing to look because I'm about ready...
Yeah, I would completely expect it with PCCB/Track brakes. I've run those on prior track cars and fully expect them to squeal.
I'm fairly certain I need to do some bedding in of them, or I have an issue. My only concern is that I bed in debris on some heavy braking tomorrow on the way back...
Same here. Car is always garaged, and doesn't get much wear and tear. That info helps alot. The squeal sounds like something is wrong with the pad or rotor, so this helps confirm it. Thank you
I haven't used any specific cleaners yet on the rotors / brakes, so I can't attribute it to that. Normal light squeaks I can understand. This is obnoxiously loud screeching, so maybe there's some debris on the pad. It's new in the last 150 miles or so. It didn't occur through the initial couple...
Curious if this is normal for break on on these calipers/pads or if the squealing on low speed braking (light braking in parking lots and to stop signs or traffic lights) with loud squealing/screeching is normal?
Before I reach out to the dealer to have them take a look at the rotors/pads, I'm...
I have this problem, though it eventually releases after I push/pull on it a bit. I figured it was just because I use a Tesla tap, but it seems like this is a common issue. I only charge at home with my Tesla Wall Connect and a Tap, and this always happens to me. I haven't had to use the...
I have a hard time understanding putting an aftermarket spoiler on a car that has an active-spoiler. Don't get me wrong, I've done a ton of aftermarket body modifications on prior cars of mine, but a spoiler addition or change to the active spoiler system on the car just kind of defies any real...
I currently use a Tesla Wall Connect Version 3. I also have purchased a Tesla Tap (80amp version). I have no issues charging. I prefer my Tesla Wall Connect over the Porsche option. I prefer the size/form factor of the Tesla, the ease of use, and the reliability of their charging system.
19's don't fit the PSCB brakes that come with the OE 21" wheels right? For those that spec'd the mission 21s or other 21s from factory, I think we're stuck with 20 as the winter option. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's a visual issue only right? If you run your hand over it there's no physical feel like a ripple or change in the texture of the leather there? If the answer to that is yes, it's only visual, I think you're in good shape for a relatively simple fix.
If you have a good leather/upholstery shop near you, it's likely they can clean/fix/dye that back to normal. That damage doesn't look too bad when looking at it up close in pics. That's likely something that can be fixed without any significant replacement of anything. That's my .02
