  1. Good choice as a first EV?

Cayenne will go, even I’m not mad enough to keep two cars for ~2.5k annual mileage ? WBAC will actually offer me more for the Cayenne. Initially I wasn’t sure about WBAC valuation of this car, as they depreciate all options to zero. But then I ran a PCP quote with 5k/18m and the final payment...
  2. Good choice as a first EV?

This one is interesting, a lot of spec. Importantly including folding mirrors and surround view which would be the first boxes I’d have ticked: https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-taycan-4s-my22-preowned-9NKV0P?model=taycan&interior=2-plus-1-rear-seat&order=price_asc 12/21 so...
  3. Good choice as a first EV?

Oh and the other annoyance is they stopped subsidies for charging points. Minor but annoying, I had contemplated getting one fitted a few years ago and probably should have.
  4. Good choice as a first EV?

Im looking at the late 2021s at the moment for the same reason. Premise being if I keep it for 3 years I can still sell with 2y battery warranty left. Im also thinking provided battery condition is ok, the higher mileage ones are a good opportunity for me as I’ll bring the mileage down to...
  5. Good choice as a first EV?

The latter part is tempting, although I generally drive the same routes. But it might save me when I go elsewhere. I’ll keep it in mind when searching. Just seen a 4 CT pop up at £53k that has it. Surprisingly it’s at OPC West London, rarely do I see them near the bottom ? Might give them a...
  6. Good choice as a first EV?

You mean it can save you from being killed or maimed, since they promised they’d only stick speed cameras in places where that’s likely to happen if you go too fast
  7. Good choice as a first EV?

Thanks, that’s useful info, but I’m one of those weirdos that likes to apply the accelerator and brakes myself :) The only time I use CC is when there are roadworks on the motorway with SPECS cameras. Perhaps I Might feel differently if I did a lot of driving.
  8. Octopus Free electricity

And along those lines, next time you fly and your suitcase is under weight, go out and fill it with rocks ?
  9. 11.2020 (MY 2021) Turbo - £49800 (UK) - last chance

I didn’t realise there was a classifieds. I had a Quick Look, tempting but not sure I want to go 4 years old as I’d be selling just as the battery warranty expires. Will have a think about it though. Good luck with the sale either way.
  10. Good choice as a first EV?

Unfortunately yes, a lot of my time is stuck in London traffic. Aside from the low mileage it’s the other reason I’m not splurging on anything new and shiny. The fun driving is getting few and far between. Im not to bothered about air/acc. I’ve had both on cars and rarely if ever use it...
  11. Good choice as a first EV?

They dont have the balls (pun intended) to do that. They’ll go for indirect taxation, fiscal drag and targeting the rich (IHT on us lazy so and so’s and our parents, that have done nothing to deserve our houses). And to be honest, even if they do, it will need more than that to get the EV...
  12. Good choice as a first EV?

I was just using it as an example of where the bottom appears to be. And then Extrapolating from that the likely worst case in 3 years. It’s actually a reasonably specd car other than missing the battery. There are a few above it with less spec.
  13. Good choice as a first EV?

Thank you that is really useful and sobering (haven’t watched the video yet). The surreal times we’ve been through can make you forget how painful expensive cars can be when you come to sell :( I should have sold the Cayenne 2y ago when WBAC offered me almost all my money back. Forgetting the...
  14. Good choice as a first EV?

I have surround view on the Cayenne. Since I specd the diamond cut Satin 21s, I hoped it might help save them from some scrapes :) It’s a great option, but not so popular, otherwise I’d prioritise it. This is the issue buying second hand (particularly Porsche who are miserly with their...
  15. Good choice as a first EV?

I can charge at home, wouldn’t go EV otherwise. Realistically I’m not so bothered about 0-60, just as long as it feels special and fun to drive when I get the chance. Im also not overly bothered about options. Other then 4+1 seating and minimum of rear view camera (standard?). Then it’s a case...
  16. Good choice as a first EV?

Along the lines of my thinking. Even though I don’t drive much, it still puts a smile on my face seeing my nice car as I leave/return home. Plus, relative to some of the things my friends do for kicks, I figure it’s a relatively benign glitch in my programming.
  17. Good choice as a first EV?

Expsive cars are always an irrational choice, but you’re right I am nuts. I really should just Uber it everywhere. I wish those 2k miles were 500 mile road trips, but then id probably start looking at some really silly choices  I had similar thoughts wrt the RWD with standard...
  18. Good choice as a first EV?

Wow, you got really unlucky with the Cayenne, I hope Porsche showed you some goodwill. Im in London, so not to bothered about snow. Plus I prefer RWD normally. However, used the difference isn’t that big so wouldn’t mind the extra power of the 4S.
  19. Good choice as a first EV?

Firstly I’ll admit I’m trying to rationalise an inherently irrational choice (buying an expensive car) :) Over the last decade or so I’ve been driving less and less (~2k/y now) and been dragged to more “sensible” cars. My last sensible choice was a Cayenne 9YA at launch. Culmination of very...
