It’s as simple as it gets. Got to 0550 as I was getting ready to leave and nothing had happened. I only want it to pre heat the cabin to defrost the car, I’m not expecting it to pre heat the battery etc.

That’s my guess but I wasn’t sure if they’d get a callback from the Hypervolt to know whether the car’s been unplugged or not. But I suppose they must do, having thought about it some more. Thanks for confirming. User error!

Yeah that’s how I have mine set up; Octopus controls the Hypervolt not the car, because I’d read all the problems here with them controlling the car! It’d all worked well so far, just this problem overnight but maybe I’m just doing it wrong and need to unplug / replug if I want a top up?

I managed to get this all set up as above today and the Octopus app has created a charge schedule for me overnight. Exciting stuff. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

All modern cars are already logging and sending so much data back to the manufacturers (whether you know it or not), who then anonymise it and sell it on, that it wouldn't be a huge lift to enable some automated mileage reporting, if the govt decided. Bodes well for those of us with relatively...

I don't think it's going to happen. Unlcear logistics around implementation, and it's due to come in right before the next general election, when Labour are likely to be trying to find as many votes as they can. Are they really going to go ahead with it? I don't think so.

I believe you can't do that any more. A friend told me they're trying to crack down on people gaming the tariff so they've changed it to only allow you to configure the app to connect to the car, unless you call them and explain why you can't do it that way so they need to control the charger...

Cheers Morph, I got a Hypervolt 3 put in because I'd read it worked well with IOG! Hopefully they'll be ok with it. As an aside I'm really impressed with the Taycan so far.
