Unconfirmed: New EV production car Nurburgring record by Manthey Taycan Turbo GT

6:55.53 official lap. Sadly, not production version, so not an official record. So for now it can only be compared against Xiaomi's stripped down unnoficial record of SU7 Ultra Prototype 6:22. I would however expect the Manthey kit production version to fall between 6:55 and 7:00. Is that...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

Please tell me more about how non-hostile USA is :) Inbetween country invasions, predisent kidnapings, bombings and assisting on other wars. Add to that FBI being cought hiding pedoflie rings, trying to break user privacy measures of apple, facebook actively giving user data to the USa...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

A hostile government, like USA? A hostile government controlled by private corporations, like USA, with aggressive external policies, interested in spying on other governments, and actively doing it, openly for anyone to see, like USA? It’s software that is open source for the EU authorities...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

Let’s pretend that USA is not doing everything you just listed. Or how much more would it affect you if a foreign nation ALSO does it? You think you’re that important that the Chinese will spy specifically on you? Not to mention that is bullshit, the Chinese cars sold in EU run software...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

That's assuming you actually believe them, or that you believe that they did 0 work on battery tech in the last 4 years. The reality is that they more than likely worked on it for years - while other chinese brands focused on incremental increases every 6-12 months, from 400kw to 500kw to...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

They say 3000 charges in EU in 12 months. They have done double that in china in 6 months. So I would believe them, but remains to be seen. And no, I don’t confuse the yangwang u9 made by BYD that jumps over potholes with the NIO :)

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

That is true. But they do have the systems, and they will surely make their way in European BYD cars also. 6 months ago, 1000kw charging was only being released in china. Now it’s already being deployed in Europe. I don’t think they are not capable of brining a suspension system to Europe :)...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

BYD cars do indeed have horrible suspension. To be expected of budget cars though? Few cars below 40k have good suspension Their more premium brands, like denza or yangwang, however do not, as they are on equivalent to PAR suspension systems.

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

That’s the plan; they will put these batteries in all of their cars, including cheap ones. You still get 8-12 years of warranty, which cover excess degradation also

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

. The cars are already on roads; there are already stations installed in Europe; and there are thousands of these stations already installed in china. It’s not exactly “since last week”

Yes, zero reuse from the EV - maybe infotainment. It will be a rebadged Q5

My point was that it won’t be the same platform as the EV

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

It will be, in europe. IF they can actually deploy 3000 units in 12 months, and then flood the market with cars that support it, it will become the standard. 3000 stations at 2 plugs per station, that's 6000 plugs - as much as Ionity has today. But these are big IFs - for now BYD is stuck in...

    [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

No, they already said in investor meeting it will be an audi ICE/Hybrid platform. So just good old rebadge.

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

Funny you say that, because BMW said it's impossible and surely those cars batteries won't resist more than a handful of charges - and once the first stations made it to europe, BMW's engineers walked back the claim, saying they could do it too, but they believe 400kw is plenty fast 😂...

Kyle Didn't Believe BYD's Flash Charging Claims So he Went To China To Verify

Why china? There's already a handfull of spots in europe, and 3000 more in the next 12 months. BYD is throwing money at europe right now. One thing these guys are not showing is that the denza car will charge at a flat "curve" on a ionity/GoFast station, maintaining 350/400kw 0-90% - so it...

PSCB Coating Failure at 44k Miles — My Experience and What I Learned

That is very weird and unlikely, if anything, would indicate something broken with the brake system. There have been multiple cases of delaminated PCSB discs, but it hardly ever happened to 2 at once, mostly 1... 4 at once, those are very very very small odds. If I were you, and porsche...

Placebo. It literarlly happens/affects to all j1.1 cars in europe since 9+ months. It's literarly confirmed by porsche service centers. You're not special - unless you're running a USA imported car, which don't seem to have the issue... nothing to do with the actual car though, they just have...
