This looks very similar to issues the first Polestar 2 were facing in Europe durning press test drives. Nothing was ever reported officially but it looked like issues with the connectors of charge plug. The "Control Pilot" (CP) contact was loosely contacted only, so the charging communication...
When I looked at the features of the Andersen A2, it has maybe same than the PMCC, and definitely less than the Zappi. I did not find any integrations with PV, but maybe this is not needed for you. It only allows for monitoring the charge process. Designwise you could be right that the Andersen...
The left one is for direct connection of your car to a charging station at the street, nornmally not equipped with a charging cable itself but only with a socket. The right one exists in a 7.5m variant, which directly replaces the shorter one. It is not an extension cable but a replacement...
Trust me, I know that. And that is not my point here. I wonder why a Porsche customer in US is charged 3 times the price than in UK for the exact same thing, assuming nearly 1:1 exchange rate.
Maybe you can also ask your Porsche dealer, why they charged you that high amount at all, when they sell the same charger for a completely different price somewhere else on this planet. I would be happy to hear the answer. I found that on the UK Porsche website in the Tequipment segment.
I found the charger connect on Porsche UK site in the Tequipment section for a more reasonable price. I did not find that offer on the US site at all. The offer includes charger AND cables.
I really wonder why you are not able to deactivate the PIN code. It is definitely possible to switch it off in the settings. And then it is plug'n play
Additionally the slow starting of the charging process seems to be related to the additional communication with the Taycan OBC regarding...
Did they deliver a 11kW version of the Charger Connect to you? Can you check the backlabel of the charger? Otherwise it does not make sense as the 22kW versions definitely charge with 7.2kW on single phase.
Maybe there would have been no argument left to sell the Andersen Wallbox. Honestly, its only "benefit" is being wall mounted without additional parts. But it's extra cost and less funtionality. I really don't understand this sales sheet.
If US breakers are technically similar to EU types they will trip only instantly when there is a real shortcut ( ultra high Amps in very short time). Otherwise when the Amps are only slightly above nominal value (maybe 45 instead of 40Amps as an example) they will trip only after some minutes...
Hi daveo,
It might be that there are hard wire options available, but still the american version is only a 9.6kW hardware version. Have a look at the back label. It should be clearly noted there. 11kW or even 22kW variants only exist here in Europe. And this only because of 3phase wiring...
Ever thought that it might be because of type approval in the US? At least WLTP always measures and rates EV's efficiency including the charging equipment. So as there is no 60amps equipment from Porsche to supply to the WLTP tests that might be the simple explanation, why they rated it @9.6kW...
It connects to your home Wifi. But did you try if DLAN/Powerline modem does work at your home. Is your power socket used for charging sort of wired directly to the central power panel of your home? If so you might be able to get a network connection over powerline.
For others reading this thread: You can find the current IP address of the charger on the touch screen in the settings/networks submenu . Maybe this saves you some time :)
Additionally it looks there are two user roles defined in the web interface, a normal user and a technician mode...
To the guys taking the effort to test the temperature ... Thanks.
Can you also make a rough measurement in °F/°C so that we others can compare? Hot or warm is a very subjective impression.
Using the Web application of the charger, you can also do it the other way round, and create a second PIN only for charging. This results in one 'Admin' PIN, that allows to charge AND change settings and one 'Charge' PIN that only allows to start the charging. I guess this would be helpful for...
Another realistic cause could be a hot socket heating up the cable. Maybe in the NEMA socket the wiring is too thin or the contacts are not ideal and this let them get too hot. May have an electrician check.
You can check the video. The guy sets the current to 32A. So single phase 32A would give you the 7kW. And if you are lucky to have a 3-phase power socket (red industrial 5-pole connector) you can charge the Taycan with 11kW even.
