Which EVSE (wall box) do you have? If it’s supported by Octopus then why not have them control that rather than the car itself? Just link the car with the biggest battery to your Octopus account.
It isn’t. You need an active Porsche Connect Services subscription (£275 per annum) for Intelligent Octopus Go to interact with the car itself.
I believe Octopus being blind as to the state of charge of the car is a good thing. If Octopus think the car is always hungry, I.e. +100% charge...
1. Yes, 100% reliable
2. The 80% Porsche timer overrides anything Octopus tries to do via the Zappi charger. The car simply refuses any charge if it’s at 80% SOC already.
3. Octopus can’t communicate with my Porsche because I don’t pay for Porsche’s Connect Services. Consequently no ‘enode’...
Wow. I‘m currently getting 9.5 hours a day of cheap (£0.07/kWh) electricity when Intelligent Octopus Go controls my Zappi charger.
Way better than the fixed 6 hour 23:30 - 05:30 window and at times when I’m actually awake to make use of it!
I can still use the car’s inbuilt timer to limit...
Correct. I’ve already had to to switch from EV based scheduling to Zappi scheduling in response to a warning email from Octopus. I expect I’ll be forced to accept their Zappi schedules fairly soon too. Ah well, small price to pay for an otherwise excellent energy supply.
I‘m sure you’re right. I may switch to Zappi based control if Octopus threaten to move me off Intelligent and on to the more expensive Octopus Go again :giggle:
I use a MyEnergy Zappi in ‘always on’ mode and use the car’s inbuilt timer to control when and how much charge to take.
I’m not prepared to pay £275 annually for Porsche Connect Services which is required for Octopus to control the car’s charger directly. I also don’t want Octopus controlling...
I’m just about to extend my factory warranty for another three years this morning at £3,000 ($4,037).
Those repair costs make me feel soooo much better about the expense. Thank you @satchurator !
That sucks. I hope Octopus Energy don’t withdraw their 7p/kWh rate
On a positive note. I needed my first ‘splash and dash’ public charge in two years of ownership yesterday. Found a 300kW charger very easily and was good to go again in 10 minutes. The £0.89 per kWh stung a bit though.
Fantastic looking car and a real head turner. I imagine the wait was actually good fun?
Would you mind letting us know the effect Trump Tariffs had on final pricing? I find the subject fascinating:)
