The Tesla Tap is made in the USA and has a positive history of reliability. The QIAO is more than likely made in China and no where on the web page does it state that it meets SAE standards. I didn’t mind spending a couple hundred dollars on an adapter to charge my $100,000 plus car. Plus...
I coated my car with Gyeon Pure Evo when new. Wash it with Griots Foaming Surface Wash or KochChemie Gfs. Use a Griots Foaming Sprayer and garden hose to pre-wash. Looking to get a pressure washer setup this summer. Rinse, hand wash and dry using my Ego blower. P&S Beadmaker as a topper...
Forgot to set the timer when charging in the garage last night and came out this mourning to 292 mile range at 100%. Drove on I95 to a cars and coffee in S. Jacksonville, 150 mile round trip and still had 140 miles remaining when I got home. Just went over 6,000 miles and am exceedingly happy...
Excellent write-up! I was very lucky on my east coast trip a couple weeks ago. Every EA site worked the first time and the 150 kW units we plugged into gave me more than 150. I got over 260 kW on the 350 units. Looking forward to how the Tesla trip compares.

Yeah once the car is locked, the tap cannot be removed without unlocking the car. The NACS connector can be removed from the tap, but I used the lock I got with the Tesla Tap to keep that from happening. Like anything though, if someone wants it, they can do some damage and get it!
Completed our first long distance trip from SE Georgia to Central and Eastern Pa. Went up Interstate 95 to 26 to 77 to 81 on the way up and stopped overnight in Staunton, Va. I was a bit concerned by range anxiety, so stopped to charge with at least 20% SOC remaining just in case of charging...
Both charging doors cannot be open at the same time. I have manual doors and accidentally opened the drivers side when cleaning the windshield. Tried to open the passenger side to charge and could not. Took me a couple minutes to discover the drivers side was open. Closed it and problem solved.
I have no issue with competition, however China is a communist country who have no issue with stealing technical data, treating their citizens as slaves (working for slave wages) and doing everything in their power to destroy the free world.
