The 2020 does charge when plugged in - except on "Plug and Charge" stations, since it doesn't have the hardware. It can be updated to add it, though. For those, you start the charge through the app.
Home/normal/L2 charging, though, starts as expected, no app needed.
Unhappy to have joined the HV Battery Club. (Do we get a sticker?)
Originally happened after a charging fault (suddenly stopped at 70%), which was diagnosed as a stuck fan. Then happened again after parking, locking and going back later didn't fix it - towed. Worked again at dealer, no obvious...
Yeah, the swipe option is what does it - agreed that given the rest of the way the PCM is designed, this particular operation doesn't feel 'right' (even though it's the way most phones do deletion from lists)...maybe because it's multi-column.
Sure, @nicos - it was Porsche Westwood in Massachusetts. The tech was Kevin Pierce - staff list with emails here: https://www.porschewestwood.com/about-us/staff/
This isn't what I did. I simply opened it and connected via Bluetooth to ApplePie and it connected using Android Auto. I didn't have to install anything on my phone - after all, AA is built-in. There's no need for ZLinks except to provide the AA endpoint on the ApplePie device.
As a follow-up, the 6 January Exploter ApplePie 2 update adds the ability to do OEM GPS passthrough. Doesn't seem to work on all phones, but does seem to work in general, as far as I can tell. Given the phone it worked with also worked without it, and the one that didn't, didn't, I have a...
The Exploter ApplePie 2 (which sounds like the same thing) and the ZLink app works better. However, as far as I can tell it doesn't do GPS passthrough at all, and uses GPS from the phone. But it's more reliable, does split screen, etc.
Very good review, quite balanced. Got the Range thing wrong, though - it only limits to 60mph when it doesn't know where you're going. If you set a destination in the navigation, the limit goes up to 90 if it can get there without any problem, and adjusts as appropriate.
While Porsche of Westwood only has one fully trained Taycan tech (Kevin), he's got a lot of experience with the car at this point (and remember - a ton of the Taycan is pretty easy for any of the techs to work on). They've done good diagnostic, recall and repair work on my car.
Ugh. Over the weekend I got pelted by a rock driving through NY/NJ, which left a dime-sized star on the passenger's side, low.
Insurance, of course, wanted a seal, which I just had done and, alas, the star is still visible: its appearance basically didn't change at all.
Windshield replacements...
