Not sure. Range mode does limit the car to 100 Kph and the car is not as responsive. Mine actually lost complete control of the pedals and steering - the drive control system.
I had my car fixed & returned today. There was an issue with the DME & the Porsche centre here downloaded the patch & tested the car for 2 days. Another car here in Melbourne had the same issue & received the same patch. So it looks like there is a simple software fix.
I was called yesterday that my car has received the software update and they are testing it over the next 2 days to confirm a fix. I am not sure whether this is a whole system update or a patch. Once I get the car back I will try my best to ask as many questions so that I can find out the name...

I only received my car about 4 weeks ago. It was a MY2021 Taycan 4S+ Built in November/December I think. I assumed it had the latest update. To be honest I am not sure what update they are talking about but might ask the dealer.
