Yes, I tried to live without it as well but didn't last long. I didn't think I'd not even be able to see and manage charging anymore! It's really a racket for a car in this price range.
I don't have a root cause explanation for what you experienced, but I've noticed it delays as much as possible charging to the pre-defined timer, often setting itself up for failure by under-estimating charge time. E.g. it needs 9kw, it thinks it can get 9kwH so it starts pulling 1h before...
I got the ChargePoint HomeFlex and plugged it in my NEMA 14-50. It works well as long as I don't set a schedule on it which seems to cause protocol negotiation issues with the Taycan's own schedule. I'm getting 7kw on 40A, which is not great but at least I don't have to manually up it from 20A...
Hi Kent, it looks like your Porsche roof bars are not attached to rails?
My CT didn't come with roof rails and they cannot be retrofitted, so I'm interested in the details and model number if you found any roof bar parts that can be fitted without rails. Thanks!
Regenerative braking does happen (to a higher degree than most other EVs actually), but only when you hit the brakes. Overrun recuperation aka one-pedal driving is what you're referring to here I think. Even when turned on, it's very mild on the Taycan compared to over EVs anyway so not sure...
We have only 2 named profiles with dedicated keys and our Taycan presets the right profile settings about 50% of the time at best. I did a lot of testing and it's definitely not as simple as the documented "last settings saved to linked key". If the logic is not random, it has been totally...
If the crack is shallow you can order some windshield repair kit on Amazon. It works pretty well. You pour resin in the crack, cover it with a curing strip in the sunlight and then you can scrape off excess. Affordable DIY and looks pretty good.
Yeah I got the same cost in California. I was shocked as well. They said Porsche requires to recalibrate the camera behind the read-view mirror and do a wheel re-alignment for the auto-steering. My insurance covered it all though so I guess it's legit.
Just took my 21 for WPN9. They said it's a much simpler update of PCM with a few fixes. As a software guy I imagine WPN9 is on top of WPN8 but given how involved WPN8 is to install, the dealer might have to apply WPN8 first anyway. I think NHTSA safety issues are addressed in WPN9 so it may be...
