Well, up to I guess 50 metres away and obviously there is a security aspect - mine sits on my drive plugged in and if I hit unlock and then lock again it appears to still go through its preheat.

Without connect you can use the preheat which comes on when you unlock the car. I just blip my key and it goes into preheat mode.

I just had a factory EO engineer visit me today to resolve my charging issues with my wall box that was installed 3 weeks ago, sometimes it would charge, sometimes not. turns out it was shipped with 9 default charging profiles which the installer should have disabled but didn’t! The wall box...

See my other post - if you need your energy company to be able to control your car charging from your car (not from the charger), you’ll need connect and I think it’s laughable that Porsche UK expect you to renew in order to charge your EV effectively.

Thanks Jin, one of the issues is knowing what service I'll actually get if I sign up to Porsche Connect in order for IO to be able to connect to it. If IO is merely going to load some charging profiles into my car then it's not very intelligent (I can do that myself). I was lead to believe that...

When signing up for IO it lets you choose your vehicle and charger and both my vehicle and charger are listed... but I can't get past the vehicle comms bit.

Haha, perhaps I need to buy some shares too! :) According to Porsche UK, the connect doesn't include apple/spotify (includes the connectivity, not the subscription), however I do like the E-control and car control options. What's surprising is the Porsche UK's own customer service team don't...
