My view—ALK is only worth it if you sit a lot in traffic on a straight road. The system is garbage otherwise. For a year, I commuted in an XC90 using PilotAssist2, and it works great at 70mph, just like in stop-and-go traffic. Porsche's version I just can't trust at any speed but in stop-and-go...
Sure... they also smoked in their cars with us present back then, and that tan you used to have was from laying under the back window. Those childseats weren't there to protect you either, they were to keep you restrained from beating your sibling. Just sayin' 8-)
Unless you will have no one in the passenger front - backwards facing is not happening. This is why I dumped Jag F-Pace and went for XC90. Taycan is smaller inside than F-Pace. BMW X3 has more room than Taycan. For 3 kids, you need a proper vehicle. Taycan ain't it.
My wrap guy said the lighter the car, the less suitable it is for wraps. Because there are areas they don't wrap, you then can see that color through body panel gaps. Black or gray or darker color - doesn't stick out. White would.
Q Car Care in Burlington. I checked several folks I found mentioned in PCA forums. Was underwhelmed by most. Gabriel at that shop spent a lot of time with me getting the right color, sheen, and walking me through how exactly everything will be done.
So, around us, there are many tiny chipmunks and red squirrels. They get into small spaces and eat and poop there. Several years back, I did not catch that activity in time, and XC90 almost caught in flames as they started chewing on hi-voltage insulation. That was a pricey repair.

I have sport sound. I did not plan to order one, but it came with a car. I use it if there are people walking dogs on the road I drive or if there is a likelihood of deer. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Most dogs do not like it, and that keeps them from jumping in front of the...
What is clear to me is that the only way we can get some kind of control over our data is to have GDPR-like protections. CA started with CCPA but we need more states to join.
Automakers have shareholders screaming for more and more revenue and margin. On one end, they are instituting recurring revenue BS like BMW with their monthly charge for heated seats. On other end they are collecting and selling our data. The genie is out. California is trying to stuff it back...
Oh, if I told you what kind of "anonymized" data you can buy legally from data brokers in the US... and how it can be reverse-engineered and you can be identified.
ODBII BT or wifi dongle is like $25 on Amazon. App is free (or $7). Read the codes and you will know what is likely an issue. At least you show up more educated at the dealer.
For those with the error, see how I solved it https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/which-sensors-may-cause-egress-warner-not-available-error.19167/
There is a thread with details on which sensors do what https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/egress-warner.7271/post-124055
In my case, all the sensors were working fine since every function I tested worked. Issue was that pile of errors sitting in ECU memory was causing error above on the...
UPDATE: cleared all the codes with that popular OBDII iOS app and $20 wireless dongle. Looks like while wrapping they don't disconnect the battery, which then causes like a hundred errors.
You are correct. The difference was ~$600. The wife said she wanted the car PPFed matte or her favorite color also matte. Vinyl is thicker (at least one we got). Thickness does make the detail work wee bit harder, but man was the result worth it. We will need to get wrap shop to redo window...
I get an "Egress Warner not available" warning every time I start the car. However, the lane change sensors seem to be fine, and while parking, everything is fine, too. Trying to see if I can figure this out myself before I have to carve out several hours of my busy days to go to the dealer.
I...
