Probably a nonsense question but -
I'm curious if there is a connection between the HV heater recall and the battery issues. Does the HV battery heater heat the batteries and the cabin? If so, I wonder if the batteries are charging too much at a temperature that is too low and causing lithium...
I’m a little confused about the chargers and the charger recall, APB6 (Charging cables need to be replaced). When I bought my car last month, the cables and charger were removed. I’ve submitted my reimbursement so I’ve got what I need. Is Porsche planning to just change the cables for folks with...
I’m one month in from ending my Tesla beta testing program of over 10 years. Every time I get frustrated about the lack of SW tech in the Taycan, I fell better once I get behind the wheel. If you are unsure, do not take one for a test drive… ;)
I miss a bunch of stuff but maybe adaptive cruise...
I'm baffled by how the 19.2kw/80A AC charger would impact P&C DC charging. I do have the onboard 150kW/400V DC charger.
The Taycan quirks make me feel inferior regularly.
OK, just got an update from support via email.
“Your 2020 Taycan Turbo S does not have the Plug and Charge feature, Remote lock and unlock feature, nor WIFI.”
While this "might" be true, I just got off another call with Porsche Support, and they claim the 2020 Taycan does support Plug and Charge even though there is no option on the PCM. She double-checked my VIN and account and confirmed that I have all the necessary subscriptions, and it should...
FWIW, Porsche Support told me that MY 2020 does support plug and charge and the option in the PCM doesn’t exist but isn’t needed. Couldn't test at one EA location because it wasn’t a P&C site and the other one was but had 3 dead stations and I couldn’t wait any longer to test.
Anybody have a policy or know of one that could work? I talked to two Porsche dealers and both are unable to offer an extended warranty with a branded title.
We checked the Porsche Vehicle Service Contract ( VSC ) and Fidelity - no go - “branded title vehicles are not eligible for coverage.”...
This is really big news, and while it's just a press release, it could become a critical partner to fill a crucial hole in their strategy.
In my experience, car companies and large German SW companies are late adopters, and therefore, partnering makes sense.
Applied Intuition works with many...
This should help. Hope they don’t just focus on the future and figure out how to support a single code base so that the whole (especially electric vehicles users) customer base gets the value of a more modern software development lifecycle and methodology.
Getting Xcel ppf next week. Should I do the glass roof? For another $500 +/-? They don’t recommend the windshield for various reasons but assume the roof will work. Any downside except $500?
I find the Model 3's handling closer to the Taycan than the S. Having said that, I still can't believe how fantastic the Taycan is to drive compared to the Teslas. I still have a grin on my face every day after 3 weeks. I think I'll go out for a drive now.
This seems like a prudent advisory for ALL Taycan's at this point. I've already had a battery cell and module replaced, but even if I'm immune from this recall, I don't see much benefit to charging over 80% in any of my scenarios.
It sure would be nice to have an OTA update to enforce or at...
Yup, and by the time I got my car, it was fixed. Pretty cool, huh? How long has the 12V problem with the Taycan been going on? Remember, that was 2012. That was 12 years ago and 3 years before the first Apple watch, and they fixed it quickly and "saved" the company.
Having run an Agile software...
I could be wrong, but using the "preferred charging period" in my car charges to 100% no matter what the minimum charge is set at. I had to set the charging to "optimized charging" for the minimum charge so that the maximum charge is where the charging stops. Germans think backwards with...
I have two unit setups like this. Works great. It allows me to charge from solar at much cheaper rates and only charge during off-peak times when not charging from my solar panels, unlike the broken app profiles that charge to 100% when you setup timers or preferred charging periods.
