My car is currently in the shop for 1 week to replace the communications module. I've had periods of 2 months where connections worked and then periods of 2 months where no connection was possible. I'm hoping that with the replacement the issue is fixed once and for all.

Well that's easy. Just tell them that you have regular Porsche connect issues. There has to be some updates to that system in every release. I got them to update mine to the latest software with that.

Just one remark: get a home charger even if it's just a trickle charger.
