Resurrecting this to say that in my 2025 Taycan 4 the CarPlay icon doesn’t appear in the lower screen, even when connected to CarPlay. (However in my 2020 4S it did indeed appear there!)
Hi there! I sold my 2020 Taycan 4S and just hopped into a 2025 Taycan 4. Both have the Passenger Display option, but only the 2025 has a privacy filter on the passenger display.
I know that the introduction of the ability to view video content is likely the reason for this, but it's a huge...
Do the brake lights come on when the Taycan is slowed down with the regen function? In our old Tesla, when you lifted off the accelerator, the brake lights would illuminate ... but the car would actually eventually come to a complete standstill - one pedal driving most of the time. Not saying...
Hello from a fellow McLaren/Porsche owner here. You'll LOVE the McLaren. I went from a 570GT to an Artura. Both were rock solid ... just be sure to drive it regularly and don't let it be a "garage queen"! It needs the fluid running through it every now and then. :-)

As other have said, just use CarPlay (or Android Auto). Your phone (and accompanying messages) can wait. Or pull over and delay yourself a bit to read the messages. I see so many drivers with eyes off the road "for half sec" who veer into other lanes or slow down needlessly as their eyes and...
I personally hope that CarPlay takes over every screen in my Taycan (but I'm not holding my breath). I have a lovely CarPlay interface in the center screen and the 3 others look like complete ass. I saw Android Auto the other day and had to immediately look away...
For an aftermarket product, this is quite nice! But I doubt Porsche would have considered this positioning as the phone blocks direct access to the lowest buttons on the middle screen … and blocks their Taycan logo! ?
Just wanted to clarify that for right-hand drive cars you could use the mount on the right side vent (i.e. to the right of the steering wheel). This would keep the whole center of the car clutter-free.
