  1. Upgrading from J1.1 GTS to J1.2 GTS or Turbo

I upgraded 22 GTS to 25 Turbo GT. I cared a lot about the range because I often drive Bay Area to Tahoe and it’s nice to not have to stop… but yes the power is very noticeable. Of course the TGT has more power than the regular turbo but you will still get most of the difference. I was actually...
  2. Mountain Test Drive of the 2025 Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo J1.2

It looks like the car is very new - was the brake regen active? The car will be far less efficient before regen activates. From everything I have read and my own experience J1.1 -> J1.2 I would expect the various range/efficiency improvements would at least roughly balance the aero hit going...
  3. Taycan Turbo GT road trip - consumption/ range report

Right now PS4AS, 21s, Panamera fitment (ND0) - 325/30 read and 275/35 front. wheels are bbs fi-r with slightly less offset than stock (so slightly more outboard/less aero). definitely not set up for maximum range… needed AS to get up to Tahoe in occasional light snow (will drive the Cayenne in...
  4. 2025 Taycan GT Wins Road & Track’s 2025 Performance EV of the Year Comparison

now you’re making me feel bad, taking food from the mouths of starving kids!
  5. 2025 Taycan GT Wins Road & Track’s 2025 Performance EV of the Year Comparison

Ummm, they compared the cars in two groups, under $100k and over. the Turbo GT was only up against the Lucid Sappire. Yes, first of two for the win. The model 3 competed with BMWs, Hyundai, Ford, Honda etc at similar price points and levels of power. Sorry to spoil the bet but here is a...
  6. 2025 Taycan GT Wins Road & Track’s 2025 Performance EV of the Year Comparison

I love mine and I am glad they made it. I am sure I would have also loved a Turbo, or GTS, or the new S that is about as powerful as my last gen GTS. I think the small percentage of development budget that went to the Turbo GT will make the rest of the line better in the future. They made a 4...
  7. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

Usually the configuration locks a number of weeks in advance of the start of production based on orders for specific parts. I don’t know for sure / you could ask your dealer, but I doubt that you can change it this close to the start of production. When I had hoped to order/spec one myself, I...
  8. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

@KJ1114, I posted a trip report including some cold weather here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-turbo-gt-road-trip-consumption-range-report.22449/ i think it’s the same thickness but hard to be sure because my GTS (unfortunately) had the leather steering wheel. Maybe someone...
  9. How many kilometers or miles until regen kicked in for the first time ?

Mine took about 350 miles. I think it may have to do with total energy scrubbed with the brakes; stops or even slowing down a lot from high speed is likely to help push it over the line.
  10. Installed Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 21" tires on Taycan 4S -- my review & results

I like them - great for all season. I feel like I lost a tiny bit of crispness in the steering from the P Zero R, but that was only noticeable back to back. Now that I have had them on for a week or two the car just feels great. I am sure on a track they give out a bit before the P Zero R...
  11. Taycan Turbo GT road trip - consumption/ range report

I hope that at least you were able to drive faster than I did! Much of the increase in estimated range remaining at destination occurred when I hit traffic :( On those rare days of open road and good visibility my efficiency dropped like a stone in my GTS and I expect the same will happen in...
  12. Taycan Turbo GT road trip - consumption/ range report

EPA is 276. In addition to EA there is a 350kw charging station in the lower Northstar parking lot and Chargepoint (I think only 62.5kw) downtown (gets a good charge over a meal). I have a house in Truckee so I can charge there. I have had good luck with the EA in Auburn - nothing to do in...
  13. Taycan Turbo GT road trip - consumption/ range report

It felt great but mostly I was going 60-65 (traffic, wet roads near freezing) and it probably would have felt great without PAR also :)
  14. Taycan Turbo GT road trip - consumption/ range report

I just did my first road trip in the Turbo GT. I drove from Menlo Park to Truckee and I was *thrilled* with the range under the circumstances. Trip: 220 miles and 5600 feet of elevation gain Weather: mostly 50s for the first ~150 miles, then dropping fairly quickly to 30s and eventually high...
  15. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

I wish I could give you advice with greater certainty but I don’t know how much range you will lose at -10C. We do have temperatures like that in the Tahoe area so I will get a bit of data soon and I will share what I learn. It also depends on whether the (less than?) 50mph is mostly steady...
  16. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

The tires were PS4 all season 275/35 and 325/30 on 21 inch wheels. NC0 / Panamera figment. They have “B” rolling resistance grades on the European tire labels. I was worried that the slightly wider tires would have a negative impact on range but it appears they did not (though I don’t have a...
  17. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

Attack mode is a noticeable increment especially when I am already accelerating and hit attack mode / power ramps up. That said it’s darned fast either way… but regular just feels “normal really fast” (similar to my GT3 at speed, faster low and), whereas with attack mode it feels “crazy fast” -...
  18. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

From the dealer before they shipped it from Austin… with the stock RS Spyder wheels.
  19. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

What feels excessive is 1092 (or 1019?) HP in first gear! 939 HP, especially in second gear, is great - for a few seconds. Coming around an on ramp to a free way at night, no cars around, grab the paddle and hit it hard for a couple seconds is great… but the 10 second limit is immaterial on the...
  20. First impressions of my 2025 Taycan Turbo GT

Love it!!! What’s great 1. Wow, it’s powerful. Feels similar at speed to a 488 or a GT2RS (the two fastest cars I have driven); *much* faster than my 991.2 GT3 or Taycan GTS. Off the line it’s like nothing I have ever driven or ridden in, launch mode is almost too much (from someone who had...
