"Jetta And Taycan Among 10 Cars Facing The Axe At VW Group: Report" - article

Strange. VW is dropping many models because of overlaps amongst them. But as for today, nothing replaces the Taycan totally. Not even models from other companies. Best I can think of is AMG-GTXX in the near future or the Polestar 5. Porsche has already got the J1 platform up and running why...

Porsche just needs to give up on any advanced software features

To add on Tesla, their Model S Plaid is trying to do more than what their chassis can handle as a sports sedan. Just like Taycan's software feature set is bigger than what their software team can handle. I chose to have more car than more tech. I think we all made this choice. Not that I stop...

Porsche just needs to give up on any advanced software features

I do not use any sort of departure planning in my Taycan. I just plug in the cable at the correct time so it goes to the charge i need at the time i depart or just let it sit at high charge for say 6-12 hours. The only thing I change is the % charge level, usually at 85%. In fact this is how...

Cayman EV (and Boxster EV) may axed by new CEO Michael Leiters

If Porsche is moving away from performance evs, i will look for another brand. SUVs dont cut it for me. I am very looking forward to the upcoming BMW M3 electric. I never got the Taycan for its badge. It is for its looks and performance. I track my Taycan too.

Cayman EV (and Boxster EV) may axed by new CEO Michael Leiters

Maybe they are stacking batteries at where the 982's engine is. It helps to reduce yaw moment and make it feel like a cayman, but i would rather take lower center of gravity.

Fake gear shifts coming to 2027 Taycan (and big PCM update)!

I still use the electric sports sound as sensory feedback on my throttle position and speed. Not for any nostalgia at all. They need hardware changes for the pedals behind the wheel though. It sort of tells the original owner still craves the past, even settling to an emulated one. Of course...

We should not complain - Lucid Owners have the worst of it (Engineering Explained regrets purchase)

Creating a rendering of concept car (a concept of a concept??) is very different from having the exact design measurements, actual user experience, and having viable mass production though. Even the original Mission E looks like it can only run on a race track with less thought on...

What would you like to see in a Taycan refresh (SSP Sport / J2)

Porsche's gross margin is like 25% in 2024: https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/annual-sustainability-report/combined-management-report/results-of-operations-financial-position-and-net-assets/ There is no crazy 1000% profit.

What would you like to see in a Taycan refresh (SSP Sport / J2)

Make it ~3 inches less wide. Make the Panamera be the big 4 door sedan, Taycan be the small 4 door sedan. A bit like Cayenne vs Macan. Remove the center tunnel between the rear seats. Asethetics still more important than the egg-shaped EVs these days. So keep the looks! Can tolerate shorter...

Lots of down time as i await repairs on my 2025 CT 4s

Porsche as a company should have all the parts in stock at least in Germany and be able to send them out on short notice. If a part is lacking they should delay new car deliveries for fixing the old ones because it ruins ownership experience.

"Porsche’s EV Gamble: The Taycan Depreciation Crisis - Explained" - video

It really depends on the options. Options for daily use cases are highly valued. So stuff like contrast stitching won't help too much. Shoppers in the second hand market likely relies on this as their only car and is quite price conscious.

"Porsche’s EV Gamble: The Taycan Depreciation Crisis - Explained" - video

It relates to the options picked as well. Especially for Gen1 Taycans. Stuff like bigger battery, folding mirrors, sound system, glass roof, 4+1 seats. These features are included in the major Tesla Model 3 class of EVs and people felt left out without them, especially if thats their only car...

    TSB: 2025 Model Year: WRV3 campaign – Update to software network VR11 - Dec. 9, 2025

I never thought i needed any of its features - like I never really crave for the next Android update on my phone. The two finger reset has never been with my MY2025 so it didnt bother me too. Only went to service to fix something and they updated it for me. And the plus side is to watch...

Just updated the VR11. To me the best thing is the naughty speed nanny whine gets a lot softer! UK Taycan here.

The new 21" Aero Design wheels

it actually says " Not recommended for use on the circuit. " Has anyone compared its track performance? I tried pulling 1.2G of steering from it but havent tried more. Edit: that was at about 50mph on a track during a curve, dont know if it matters too much if speeds differ.

My rims (21" range wheels) got curbed - should I repair it at an alloy shop? I heard each diamond cut repair will shave off part of the wheel and I cant do that too many times.
