Just to update. Porsche support requested the chargers SN. When I restarted the Wall Charger this morning, the charger connected to the cloud and I was able to add it to my profile.
I'll guess that the mother ship was rejecting the charger because the SN was not in its database, blocked, or...
If I was on the ball, after the Server authentication error/Limited service notice thats provided by the current software version I would not have bothered with trying to link a Porsche ID.
When a SSL/TSL connection is set up, first a non secure connection between the two parties is...
I don't get to the point of entering a Porsche ID or password. It first needs a basic secure SSL/TLS connection to the mother ship. I think that the negotiation set up fails, but I don't know what I don't know.
Yeah, but I haven't had to go there for a couple years and didn't think it would be useful given the same response on three different internet connections. I'm going to wait for tech support as its not a show stopper.
When I restart the charger I see about 19kB of SSL/TLS traffic over the...
The Porsche server may be rejecting the connection because of an authentication issue. I have tried setting up via both my phone and my mobile hotspot with the same results.
There are many reasons that authentication fails, the server being down is one of them. Expired certificates is another...
Pairing with Porsche ID requires the "internet connection" to the Porsche server that fails I've not seen a QR code or a website displayed so there is no Porsche ID associated with the charger. In other words, I don't get that far onto the setup. Subsequently profiles/pairing is grayed out.
I have done three factory resets. Porsche is going to get back to me Monday. The guy on the phone was puzzled why SW version 6120 didn't resolve this connection thing completely and escalated the case .
Other than the built in Home User and Customer service users, a user profile was not set...
This is a server authentication error. I was confused by the no internet connection status. No internet means the charger cannot connect to the Porsche server. An interesting distraction, but thanks for helping me eliminate other possibilities.
Thanks, but I should have mentioned that the charger will not connect to the mothership via the house network, nor an iPhone cell hotspot or a mobile cell hot spot which are not firewalled.
I'm starting to think the expired certificates are required to connect to the mothership. The https...
I should add, in case its relevant, I do see a expired certificate message on occasion. I think thats used for the case the charger is used as a public device. I can see the web (https) certificate when the browser connects and that expires in 2035.
The charger has not displayed a QR code...
The charger connects to the local household wireless network access point. I can connect to it via a web browser located on the same network. When I try to link the charger to my Porsche ID it fails with "Please connect the device to the internet to add a user profile". Since it doesn't link...
I installed a Wall Charger this week and everything seems to work as expected except the charger fails to connect to the internet. I have tried both my home network and mobile hot spot in case it was a home firewall issue. The Web application connects to the charger via local (residence) wifi...
